Question about Westinghouse LTV-32w1 32 in. HD-Ready LCD Television
My LCD TV screen goes blank with sound still on after the TV has been on awhile. If I press the on/off switch a few times the screen will reappear but then turn off again after awhile. My solution was to run an external fan onto the back/top of the TV and that seemed to do the trick (the back/top was hot). Now, with the summer heat, this does not always work so I want to really solve the problem.
Have the inverter board checked for cold solder joints, this television is notorious for bad connections on the small transformers on the inverter, buy the way the inverter is the board that lights the lamps.
Thanks please leave comment

I had this problem on my 42" Philips. Just got it yesterday and worked fine on the tv stand. As soon as I mounted the TV to the wall via wall mount system, I had the exact same issue you did. Figured it out today.
The wall mount was putting pressure against the center of the back of the tv (tv set had a slightly rounded back plate, and the mount was a flat plate). As soon as I put spacers (part of the wall mount hardware set) between the wall mount braket and the tv so there was no contact except at the mounting holes, the tv worked fine.
My theory is the pressure pushed the tv back plate against some board components which caused them to overheat (no air flow); or put pressure on internal connectors. I dont know.
Hope this helps, may not apply to your situation.

My solution so far has to been to run a fan onto the back of the TV screen near the top. This has kept the screen lit once it has been turned back on again. A more permanent solution based on my research appears to be replacing some electronic part, maybe the LCD Inverter. I have so far elected not to go that route.
