Dell Latitude D510 PC Notebook Problem

I can't get any network driver to load on my dell D510. I would love to just go oline for these drivers, but I have no connectivity - No drivers! I reimaged it 3 timeswith the original HD, then finally got a disk error. I replaced the drive, formatted slow, reimage, and got the exact same situation - no network drivers of any kind. Am I over looking something simple??? Or is it something sinister and dark?!?!?!?

Please give me your advice??

Thank you - your advice was helpful. I have imaged 100's of Dell and HP laptops, and I had never seen this problem before. I was using my Enterprise XP Pro, and it has never failed me. I searched the net, and read about a "security chip", and convinced myself that might be the problem, so I disassembled it and removed the system board battery. The top cover wasn't fitting down like it should, and I began taking it back off, and pulled the touch pad connector right off the sys. board!!! Honestly I'm not a complete ****, but this is the first 510 I have ever worked on!!!!! Maybe the last!! Thanks again for your help!!!

You're not overlooking anything, with some Dell machines, neither the wireless nor the ethernet drivers are installed with a system reload, and it's expected of you to get the drivers on line. So, you will have to burn the drivers to disc from another machine in order to down load them. You can also use an external hard drive or flash drive, if you have these available to you. Keep in mind that some flash drives aren't big enough, depending on the size of the download.
