What is the make and the model number of the turntable? I do know that the record platter is held on by gravity and lifts off most truntables I've replaced belts on, then it is just a matter of threading the belt over the motor pulley, most time you can do this from up top once the platter is removed, at worst you remove the bottom to thread the new belt onto the motor pulley.

Just remove the record platter, the belt is right there under it.

The belt just goes over the drive motor pulley and then over the drive of the platter, very simple.

Model PS-LX300USB Turntable Drive Belt

Hi Norman

Normally the belt does not go through any special tensioners or anything of that nature,The belt should go directly from the spindle motor onto the inside of the platter. Hook the belt on the motor section and lay the belt open wide inside the turntable. Next, replace the platter and manouvre the belt onto the platterinside through the two large holes

Have akai ap-b110 turntable needs belt. Can you tell me the length/specs

  • If you have the turntable belt:
    • State the type of belt used (Flat, Square, Round).
    • Pinch both ends of the belt.
    • Measure the pinched length.
    • Multiply the pinched length by two (2x).
    • If the turntable uses a Flat belt, measure its width (usually 0.187").
    • If the turntable uses a Round or Square belt, measure its thickness.
    • Please include the make and model of the turntable with the belt's measurements.
  • If you do NOT have the turntable belt or it is shredded:
    • State the type of belt that the turntable uses (Flat, Round or Square).
    • Use a piece of string to tightly follow the belt's path.
    • Measure the length of the string.
    • Measure the width between the rims of the motor pulley that the belt can pass through (usually 0.250 inch).
    • Please include the make and model of the turntable with the belt's measurements.

My KD-291RC has power but my turntable wont turn. I touch the needle and I can hear its on and when I move the arm towards the record or set it on it it will not turn. Help?

Your turntable is belt-driven, it's likely that the belt just fell off. The belt lives under the turntable. On my turntable (a totally different model) the turntable lifts off.

Changing the belt on a Technics SL-3 (Linear tracking) turntable

Instructions on installation of your drive belt - this also applies to other brands as well - however this belt is only for the Technics models listed above:
  1. Remove the turntable platter off from the turntable
  2. Remove the old/damage belt
  3. Wrap the new belt underneath the turntable platter - you will see a small lip on the bottom of the platter. Wrap the belt around this lip.
  4. Put the platter back on the turntable
  5. The turntable platter will have small holes, rotate the platter until you see the motor, and the motor shaft.
  6. Pinch the belt, so that it wraps around the motor shaft
  7. Turn on and enjoy!
