Whats the model number on the washing machine?

  • Tim Babcock
    Tim Babcock Aug 22, 2008

For a Hotpoint there should be a different model number than that one. If you find a different number in the back of the machine, let me know and I can send you to place where you can get the diagram.

I'll try looking it up with what you gave me.

Here is a link to get what you need

Use WM 51 as the model number when searching.

How to remove the control unit on a hotpoint wm62 washing machine please

The main control unit on the WM62 is at the top behind the user facia control panel. If you remove the lid you should get relative easy access to it. If memory serves, there are 2 wee plastic plug to remove on the SIDES of the top lid, ease them out with a flat screw driver, then you need a torx T20 screwdriver to remove the screws behind the plug. The lid should now be removed with a gentle knock forward from the rear of the lid. Remove the soap drawer and you will see a few more screws, remove these and the 2 screws on the top of the Facia, the control unit is now easily removed.

I have a hotpoint wf840 washing machine (6 years old) and the wash program will not complete the drum turns but will not advance to the end or spin and on the front facia it states f-08 what does tis mean

F08 means you have a heater fault and in this case because the water isnt getting hot the program wont advance. Check out the heater and related wiring. If you dont already know the heater is at the rear of the machine. For more information about error codes go to www.selfix-uk.co.uk

Apart from the cover at the base. How do I access the internals of the machine. I have a loud noise on spin plus I seem to have a water leak inside

The front panel comes off. 1st you need to remove the Facia to access the 3 screws...Leak could be door boot seal noise sounds like drum bearings/ if its under 5 years old phone Hotpoint it will cost around £100 for call, parts are free.....If over 5 yaers think new machine as its quite expensive to do full job and not always worth it if old........

The part that controls the water level is broke

You didnt give a model number, but I will assume it is a top loader with a level selector knob. Is the stem still visible, or did everything break off? You can remove the facia panel with the phillips head screws on each end, and by removing the program selector knobs by pulling straight out. The level selector is fairly simple to replace. there should be two wires and a clear rubber tube. get your new part from an appliance part store ( less than 30 dollars). unplug the machine, and transfer the wires to the new part one at a time keeping them in exactly the same place. undo the hose clamp ( if present, sometimes just held on by pressure fit) and connect the pressure tube to the new level switch. re assemble the facia panel, plug the machine back in, and give it a test.

Hotpoint wma22 fills with water but won't wash or spin

Suspect motor brushes need replacing.
Simple task accessed by removing the top of the washer and releasing the clips holding the brushes into the motor - clip on back of brush - to remove the brush assembly.
Replace complete brush assembly.

How to change a door seal on a hotpoint wma58

Firstly remove band holding front of seal then remove the screws from the door lock and push lock through.
Remove kick plate from bottom of machine &take out 2 screws holding front of machine.
Remove soap drawer &take out screws behind it then bring facia forward & slide to right to remove. Take care at this stage not to disturb wiring on cicuit board. An extra pair of hands would be helpfull to hold it.
Remove screws holding front as you did at bottom then lift and remove front panel.
Seal is now easily accessed.
Post back if any further assistance needed.
Thankyou for using Fixya.

Hotpoint Wf 541 how to remove top and front facia

To remove the Top you need to pop small torx covers on each side at the top (near to front). Then unscrew the torx each side. the top will then slide back about 5mm.

Once the top is opened you will have a major task of removing all cables from control unity behind facia and the holding screws. Depending on the damage to the button/plastic you may be able to pop the button into place. It is also possible you may need to order a new control unit from hotpoint. I believe you can order online for minimum hassle.

your cold water valve will be your problem or you've turned the water supply off, if the supply is not off put the machine on to the final rinse if it fills it will be the main rinse valve gone. The cold water valve is a double one with 2 solaniods. Unplug the machine turn water supply off remove fill hose there are 2 screws keeping the top on, remove them lift the lid off.undo the screws that keep the valve on, take note wiring and remove pull the black hoses off, replace with new one. The resistance of the valve will be around 3.4 kohms
