Cannot scan/problems installing to Mac laptop

Yes, it's definitely compatible. I can print fine to the printer, but can't use the scanner at all. It says the scanner "cannot be found." I have installed the software.

Hmm.ok...we're assuming whatever this printer is, that's it's compatible with the OS you're using. I recommend you double check it.

CANNOT SCAN FROM MY HP PHOTOSMART 6510 TO MY MAC

I'm not familiars with macs but I would not even mess with the HP software. Open whatever photo/graphics program you have, find "aquire image" or something similar and see if it "sees" the scanner. If it does, just scan directly from the software.

I have a cannon MP 160 printer/scanner. It does not work on a Mac

Uninstall all your drivers (and delete the preferences) and download the Mac drivers from this link. The drivers that came with your printer were developed before Snow Leopard came out.

Can't get it to scan. It prints, it copies, but no scanning. It's a photo I'm trying to scan. I switched to Mac from PC recently. If that's the problem, what do I do? Tks.

Did you install the Canon software?
Most canon's will print without any software being installed on a mac. Scanning needs the software.
Anyway. Do this.
Open your applications folder and look for an app called "Image capture" When it opens up it should - all being well - recognise the scanner and do an automatic preview. Once it's done that select what you want to scan by drawing a box around it, this should activate the scan button. Press that and it will probably ask what you want to do with the scan and what sort of file you want.
I'll leave that up to you to decide.
You may find that the next time you try to scan (on another occassion that is - not doing another scan straight away after the first) that the scanner is not recognised. It happens periodically with some Canon MPs and I don't know why. If it does happen, the easiest solution is to restart the mac. Sometimes unplugging the USB and replugging sorts it.

Lexmark 2600 scanning to MAC-no can do

Edward, I have this same problem. Were you able to solve it? Anyone, can you help? I have installed the drivers. When I connect the printer to my Mac, it launches ImageCapture and previews the scan fine. But I am unable to get the "scan" button to become active, adn there is no place to save the scan. If I click "save pdf to iphoto" it saves a pdf of the entire screen, rather than just the photo. Appears not to be Mac compatible for scanning purposes. Thank you for your help.

Scan function won't work with Mac OS10.5.5 & Airport

I plugged the printer cable directly to my laptop instead of trying to scan using the airport wireless router. Plugging it in did the trick.
Thank you,

HP PSC 1315, scanner and Mac os

To scan documents on Mac OS X using your HP PSC 1315, you need to download HP's "Device Manager" software which is available here : http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=mp-41992-1&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&product=374572&os=219&lang=en

I just installed the software and am now scanning problem-free.

How to Scan?

If you are still in need of a solution:

You need to make a visit to the canon website and install the drivers for the MAC os onto your laptop...use this link: http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&tabact=SupportDetailTabAct&fcategoryid=238&modelid=13800#DownloadDetailAct

After you have completed this you should have no difficulty scanning to a MAC
