Driver for Cruzer Nicro USB 2.0 Flash Drive on Win 98SE
Dear Worldvet and The FixYa Team:
Thanks for your email guiding me to your site to download a driver for
my Windows 98SE, so I can activate the USB flash drive. I am not
successful. I have on my desktop now the following: 1)
usb-test-tool-exe, and 2) oem-ufd-98-driver.zip. When I choose Number
One, I get a window stating: "Unable to locate USB Drive Please verify
USB Drive is plugged in or Administrative privilege is required."
My flash drive is plugged in, yet, apparently it cannot be found. When
I attempt to open Number two, apparently it is directed to my Imagining for Windows file, and the following window states:
"This documents format is invalid or not supported." I have no idea how to proceed. Please help a drowning PC user.

Re: Driver for Cruzer Nicro USB 2.0 Flash Drive on Win...
I've been down this road with windows 98 se
it severaly lacked USB support
USB 2.0 support is good in XP pro WITH service pack 2 only
you may not be able to get ANYTHING done in windows 98
with the USB ports
I don't have a solution for you in this matter
that irritates me to no end.
and what I just told you is not easy to find in any documentation
provided by microsoft on the subject and don't expect nvidia or sandisk themselves to be clear on this matter
it's time we held microsoft and these companies responsible
for this kind of situation and currently thats being done by the federal government , lets hope they punish these venders for this kind of pain and suffering and out right lies or lack of information.
I'm very sorry I have no solution to this problem but in computer
the rule is never give up and NEVER surrender any hardware.

You need to download the Sansa Win98 drivers here. This is of course assuming that your Windows98 recognizes the on board USB ports of your motherboard which can be verified in the Device Manager. The Universal Serial Bus Controllers should show at the very bottom of the list of installed devices.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.
Is the account that your tying to access the drive with an Administrator account? If not, Log in as Administrator and try to access the new drive. If you ARE using Administrator privileges on the vista machine, the problem lies in the U3 smart driver. Try downloading and installing the drivers for the XP SP2 os on scan disks website, If vista rejects the install package off of the scan disk website, let me know and i'll extract the drivers and build an install for them for you.
