Question about Philips 42PF9630A 42 in. Plasma Television
The top half of my plasma tv has developed artifacts... like those seen on a computer when the video card goes bad. What can this be and will the parts be expensive?? Thanks in advance.
If the lines affect the On Screen Display (tv menu) then the possibilty is that the Y upper Buffer is stressed and ther is not a problem with your SSB. Just remember that any of the Y boards and can stress the other ones out and cause probelms like the one you have, but I would be safe to say that replacing the Y upper buffer would solve your issue

Tips for a great answer:
It could be one out of the two problems..
1. The plasma panel or the components which supply electricity to the plasma in the panel have packed up.
2. The video processing unit in the set has gone.
Also the y-sus video board which is a common problem with plasma sets.
Call a competent person to remove the back panel-remove the board and power the set up-if it is this board the set will display the top half of the picture only-when replaced no picture will be displayed.
