Hi. I'm Rodave from the Philippines. My Lap Top is HP Pavillion DV2742se. I really don't know much about computers and I'm scared to dissect my lap top with out knowing really what to do. My problem is that my Graphics Card cant handle much of my favorite games. how would i know where to replace my graphics card and what kind of graphics card would i replace it with? Another problem of mine is that my laptop heats up very quickly even thou i already put up a fan underneath my laptop. sometimes it gets so hot that i cant touch it anymore and i need it to get all my homeworks done. please please please help me. sorry for my bad English by the way. :(

HP Pavillion has the tendency to get hot while in use, I don't think there is nothing wrong with it, You can buy one of those pads with fans if you want to, but that is not a guarantee that will increase the battery function time.
You can do the following to replenish the battery and increase it's life...Without turning on your computer charge the battery until the green light comes on, then disconnect the charger and turn on your computer and let the computer on until the battery ran out of juice, ( During this period Do Not use your Computer). Then charge the lap top again without turning it on when the green light comes on, you can use the lap top. If this action does not increase the your battery use time, then it's time to buy another battery.

I could probably fix your problem in about five minutes if we were chatting or on the telephone, But don't despair because there is another FREE solution.
It happens periodically that our computer shuts down, restarts, screen freezes, screen goes blank or hibernates when we really don't want it to. I'm going to pass on to you a FREE and hard to believe program from Microsoft! I have no idea why this little program hasn't been advertised but then I don't own their stock.

If your laptop is under warranty go back to the manufacturer. If not go to hp center and buy a power cord of your charger which is totally fix to the charging hole.
Check ebay, look for a whole top panel with broken LCD glass. Somebody usually parts out the whole thing. If you were in the states it would be easy to find a shop or scrap computer parts store. But overseas I am not sure of how it is done there.
