Question about Singer Quantum XL-1000 Computerized Sewing Machine

1 Answer

Needles breaking consistantly on the same place on the pattern. I am using the Amazing Box II. Machines have been serviced by factory repair center - indicating nothing is wrong with the machine. I am using a new Magic Box card.

Possible the needle's position needs adjusting and may be hitting something. It may just appear to have something to do with the place in the design. Take it and have it checked with a reputable sew and vac or dealer.

Brother750e in-no is dowloaded photo transferred to stitches using foil thread or embroydery thread , top thread keeps breaking, I've changed the needle don't know what else to try . Please help

Metallic thread is often easier to break when sewing. Make sure the thread is not brittle and old; It may also require "Metallic Embroidery" needles that have a slightly larger needle groove and eye spaces. Also, make sure your thread does not have additional tension on it when being fed from a vertical spool. allow the thread to flow horizontally off of the thread spool into the machine.Or place the spool bottom down on the table next to the machine and let the machine pull it up and over through the machine which needs to be very properly threaded.

Why do my top thread keep breaking

Basic Tips for All
  1. Always turn the handwheel TOWARDS you (counter clockwise) as turning it in the opposite direction (away from you, clockwise) may knock the timing out requiring repair from a service center.
  2. Always be sure your presser foot is in the DOWN position before sewing. Sewing with the presser foot in the up position will cause your thread to tangle and your bobbin to jam.
  3. Change needles regularly (after 16 hours of use) as dull/weak needles can cause damage to your machine and fabric. Only use SINGER needles on your SINGER sewing machine.
  4. Always be sure you are using the correct bobbin for your machine. Class 66, Class 15 and Class 15J bobbins look very similar. However, using the incorrect bobbin class in your machine can cause damage.

How t change knitting instructions 5ply to 8ply

First of all try a guage/tension swatch. Cast on 25 stitches, use 5,5 mm needles and knit stocking stitch for 4 ins. This should tell you if the pattern will work with these needles and yarn.
Count your stitches over the 4 ins and see wht you have to the inch. This is your guage oe=r tension then check with your pattern to see what the guage/tension is.
To change a pattern this drastically needs an experienced knitter
If it is the pattern only that you want. then find a pattern for 8 ply and use the stitch count on the original pattern and modify for the new pattern.I wish you luck.

Serger Needles

Janome Overlockers (sergers) are set at the factory with #14 Red Tip needles
For finer fabrics, the #11 Blue Tip is good
If the #11 breaks, then try a #14 as they are a little heavier duty

I have a babylock serger & I use SCHMETZ UNIVERSAL NEEDLES on the serger & I don't have any problem with the serger
you should also check the tension to make sure it correct for fabric & needles
also make sure the needle is not in backward--flat side goes to the back of the machine.
if you need a manual contact babylock customer service

some sewing machines are self oiling some are not, instruction manual should tell,, when a sewing machine breaks needles it very possible that the machine is out of time & only a sewing machine repair shop has the tools to time the machine

Breaking needles

It depends on how thick and strong your needle is- try getting a stronger or thicker needle and see if it works. Or it could just be the machine, something might be broken inside
