when you put first phone into pairing mode it should tell you what the code is that it is using for the pairing session
that you then use on the other phone when it asks for the code.
The bluetooth is supposed to disconnect with the power being turn off and, being out of range. You can setup your phone to automatically connect instead of being asked to connect. That selection is made from your phone.
It's not microphone ! I had same probelm, it depends on the phone you are using. Try with different phone model. For example, with Nokia N95 works perfectly (talk, audio, even voice dialing), with Nokia 6220c or N85 sucks... Almost half of the phones that I tried had some issue, very similar to yours. Usually, you can hear everithing but person you talking to hears just loud noise
The range of a Bluetooth device depends on the Radio Class. I am not sure what the Class on a BlackBerry Curve is, but here are the options:
Class Maximum Permitted Power mW (dBm) Range (approximate)
Class 1 100 mW (20 dBm) ~100 meters Class 2 2.5 mW (4 dBm) ~10 meters Class 3 1 mW (0 dBm) ~1 meter
Are you using the Motorola Phone Tools software when using the USB cable? Who's your service provider for Phone? is your phone the Razr2 that's pictured above? If that's the case it looks like it's Verizon's Razr2. If it is indeed verizon's razr2, they block the File Transfer profile on all their bluetooth enabled handsets, so the problem there is them, not your phone. Verizon really only leaves the Headset and Handsfree profiles open to its users.
