At some point the two drawers individual drain hoses are joined using a "Y' type connector. Check this, and everything beyond this point for restrictions or blockage. It sounds like the bottom drawer is pumping its drain water out normally, but some of that water is backing up to the upper drawer. This is an installation or plumbing problem that is external of the dishdrawers.

Hi! Have you completed a "Clean Up" cycle? It should prompt you every 100 washes to do a clean up - it should be under the "Lifestyle" menu. When you do it, I suggest you use OXY soaker (1 whole Cup) instead of normal detergent and make sure it is all HOT water. It soaks for 4 hours, but is very good at cleaning the bowl and workings to stop brown marks on your clothes and towels
Yes it can be destructed and cleaned but will need to be done by someone with knowledge such as a service tech which will probably cost you an arm & a leg, or you can try constant hot washes with good washing powder to flush out sludge residue.Failing that
it could be that the water level got to high and came out of the valve you could try putting a cap on the valve and see if that works and if it does not then it might be a bigger issue.
Without being smart...buy a new machine. It sounds as though the timer is dying...therefore slowing down...therefore extending cycle times. If that's the case, a new timer will cost about half the cost of a new machine.
Water will not drain from machine
1. Kinked or clogged drain hose---clean hose
2. Pump does not run----readjust & tighten pump, drive mechanism
3. Suds lock---remove suds add cold water
4. Faulty transfer value---replace
5. Defective timer---replace
6. Loose belt----adjust belt
Your pressure value switch is malfunction. First thing you can try that is cheap to fix is to try clean the hose that connects to the outer tub. A lot of times there is algae develops after years of washing.
You are better off swapping the valves over in the machine until you can buy a replacement valve. I've done this for a month or so until I replaced the valve. Works as long as you only use a cold wash and your cold water is not too cold as to make the machine want to add some hot. If it does this then simply press start to clear the fault.
