Hi I have just bought a bluetooth dongle. I downloaded the driver for vista which is what my laptop is running on, but it comes up with a message saying "this installer be run on windows vista only" Yes in those words! Terrible English I know! Really don't understand. Hope you can help me.
Thanks in advance.

Re: acer aspire 3690 bluetooth driver
If the bluetooth dongle driver was on an included disc, make sure you opened or ran the disc/driver as the administrator instead of just opening in the normal manor. I've dealt with a few of the bluetooth dongles, but not many, so I'm going to say that if you keep getting the same message try either going to the manufacturer's web site to see if there's a driver download there, or exchanging the device for a different one, it could be that the disc with the driver is bad. Also, because I'm not overly familiar with these devices, I recommend you try asking Ekse if my suggestions do not work. Ekse is another of our experts here, he's extremely knowledgeable, and he may be more familiar with the devices than I am. You can find Ekse under find experts on the home page.

I hope you still have the CD that comes with the Laptop, you need to run the set utility automatically, otherwise there's likely much problem if the hardware needs bus driver too..(audio bus controller) if not there's must be incompatible driver, such as you installed Xp's for Vista, etc... If this isn't the case, try to install the driver from the Device Manager, instead of running the setup..You can also download the driver from the link provided below.. http://www.driverstock.com/Acer-Aspire-3690-driver-download/4-21-12862-93868/index.html
If you still need help, please let me know.. Good luck..
go at the manufacture's website and download the Synaptics Touchpad Driver at http://gd.panam.acer.com/home/
select your aspire model and select the driver your need which is the synaptics touchpad driver
Run it and reboot your laptop
this should work just fine
I found these 3 drivers on Acer's Website. I have labeled each of them with the Manufacture of the wireless card they are intended for. If you know who the manufacturer of you card is then try that download first, if not try each one until you get the right one (I would try the intel first, then the broadcom, and finally the atheros.)
Here is the website for Windows XP

As far as vista the drivers are here:
