Try replacing the cables you have hooked up to the T.V. or making sure they're all connected properly. Also, try unplugging the T.V. and plugging it back in. Make sure that it isn't your cable box by looking at the T.V. menu and seeing if there's red in the menus or by using a DVD player connected to the TV. Try switching the inputs to see if just one input is stealing the red, otherwise you have a bad main board. Generally a 240-275 about fix.

Samsung tv picture goes black to blue and red power button light goes on and off

The device sources and the inputs have not been set to the correct mod. There could be a problem with the TV it's self for it to be turning off like a problem with the power supply for the TV.

Clear but only blue/green color

Do you have a component cable hooked up to the TV? (cable with RCA connections Green/Blue/Red/White/Red)

If so you want to check that the red cable is tightly connected to both ends (TV and whatever it is connected to).

Good Luck...

5 year old RCA 50 inch projection tv. Picture went off.

If you are using component cables make sure they are all connected properly( pushed all the way in and in the correct input). I have seen the red cable come loose several times and cause no red color in the picture. When you change the lamp it is easy to pull on one of those cables and cause it to come loose.

Toshiba TP43H95 projection tv has power but no picture

If it shuts off and then the power light starts blinking red or it never comes on but the power light just blinks red continuously that is usually indicative of the convergence ICs (STK 392-110). You never want to replace the ICs without also replacing the resistors that are associated with them. There are usually 6 resistors, one for each of the colors and there corresponding direction, IE Red horizontal, red vertical, blue horizontal, ect. In the case of this model tv all of the resistors are 2.2 Ohm and 2watts. You will find them right where the STK 392-110 ICs are. Right in front of them. They are blue and have this color code on them. Red, red, gold, gold. These are represented by stripes on the resistors. You can get the parts from www.bdent.com They carry the ICs and the resistors. If you do not feel comfortable completing this repair I could do it for you if you send me the board. My email address is: [email protected] The cost is 375.00 and that includes parts.
Good Luck.

Seeing red !

I had a television that went to a bright shade of blue.A friends neighbor worked for sony television plant where the new tubes came down the assembly line. His job was to make sure tubes were working fine,if one color was dominant then his job was to smack the front center of the tube with a rubber mallot to fix the problem. He suggested i try that with my tube while the set was on.It worked and solved my blue problem.Apparently he explained, the gun connections in the tube came loose and to fix it was to smack it this caused the connection to reweld itself. For you I would use the palm of an open hand and smack the tube dead center with a good hard smack.Dont be afraid of breaking the glass because its very thick and strong.Give this a try.Hope it helps.Good luck!

Red , Green And Blue.

Heres the best way to set a phillips screen controls. Go into the picture controls and set picture or contrast to roughly 75%, then set brightness to 50% and then set the color level completely off. Then adjust the screen with the 3 color controls untill you recieve the best black and white picture as possible. If you are unable to achieve a good black and white picture change the coolant in the green and blue tubes. But if you can get a good black and white picture stop there then turn your color level back up and the picture should be correct. Let me know if you need further assistance.

Color sudden change

Good day.
Your unit is still worth. It may be a caused of loose contacts along the circuitry. It can be remedied by resoldering the terminals particularly the chroma section and the crt circuit.

Dark picture

use the advanced options page and reset the factor blue and red convergence defaults then do re apply the auto color defaults color at first it seemed very red (which is good because red was the missing factor in the green picture) but after reseting all the color and tints to the normal ranges I then reset the color auto correct again and all seems fine.

Very Dark Picture

This sounds like a typical problem in the sweep power supply.. theres a filter capacitor for the CRT screen voltages that is most likly open or changed value. the first clue is that you get all your colors on the convergence. this is a high voltage circuit and should not be messed with by the user unless they have solid state repair exoperience and know all the high voltage saftey factors involved. Please call in a trained tech to assist you in this matter. Good Luck

All red picture now.

Sounds like a bad capacitor or drive signal on the red tube. Could be the red drive transistor, or a cold solder connection on the crt board
