Mc Culloch chain saw

My chain saw will start but does not idle for long and cuts out when I press the trigger. Any ideas?

You will need a parts breakdown and exploded views to start with as well as a manual , All you have to do is call 1-800-521-8559 and select U.S. then select the parts department, have your model number ready and ask them for a PDF of the owners user manual to be emailed to you, they will normally be sent in 1 hour for free.

After that is done then you can see the fuel filter and line inside the tank you will need to replace, take your printed views and manual to the nearby lawn mower shop and they will help you get the parts you need even if the original ones are not available. blow out the carb with chemtool and install the parts, use NEW GAS, NEW OIL and from that day forward never leave fuel in a unit for more than 3 months. Good Luck...

It could be a plugged or "gooey" carburetor or the fuel filter in the tank could be bad. At any rate, It is not getting enough fuel. Since most of Mcculloch parts are no longer available, you will most likely be looking for used parts. Here is a site that has some parts, whether for your exact saw or not, you'll need to look. If you can find a chainsaw service center (you'll probably have the mos tluck witha smaller business) you could find out exactly what you need and then look for the parts yourself. There may be other sites online for used or even new parts that someone still has on hands.

Here is a site where you can download a manual for Mcculloch Chainsaws: When you get to this site a video will be loading, however such open the tab above it marked download and right click on the type you want (I prefer txt) now click on "save target as" to begin the download. Eventually it should as you where to save it and you can either save it to the Desktop or to a folder anywhere on your hard drive. (C). I just thought this might be good for you to have.

Can you put an 18 in. bar and chain on a poulan 2055 14 in ?

Have you considered a rental? Home Depot rents Makitas (Dolmar) with a 20" bar reasonably. Be warned running a Dolmar/Makita will make you question the value of your Poulan LOL. HTH

My eager ****** chain saw will not stay running ?

The 3 adjustment screws are Idle, high and low.
First figure out which screws are which adjustment. Tighten the screws then turn them 1 full turn.
Then start the saw and get it warmed up. Work on the high adjustment. This does take a little while. after you get the saw running at high speed work on the low speed.

Steam vacuum? no clue but on your chain saw make sure you check the choke. it would explain why it wouldn't start again.

Trigger not working correctly

You might need to de-scale the unit to free the stuck valve.
Keep the unit unplugged.
Fill the unit with a vingar and water (filtered or distilled is best).
Screw the cap back on and place the unit in a sink upside down to allow the vingar and water to reach the valve.
After a few minutes press down the trigger several time to work the solution into the valve.
Hope this helps.
