Yes time warner is a cable connection and they dont require a username and pasword. You can set up the router manually by accessing its set up page. By default the router's IP is 192.168.2.1. Make sure to set the wan connection type to dynamic, change the wan mac address or clone your pc's mac. Then save the settings. Check your internet connection.

How do i set it up manually?

Connect an Ethernet cable to one of the Lan ports,
and to the network-card in a computer (running Windows XP or Vista or 7).

Via Internet Explorer, access the web-interface "inside" the router,
and run the "Network Setup Wizard", and run the "Wireless Setup Wizard".

That's all -- there is nothing dependent on "Windows 7".

Help me to resolve a problem with my Router

To access the configuration page of the Dlink router, use a wired computer or directly connect your laptop to the router using an ethernet cable. Then open any internet browser and in the address bar type: 192.168.0.1.

Select Admin from the drop-down arrow and then enter your password. Leave the password blank by default. If it doesn't work, then you will need to reset the router.

At the back of the router there is a reset button, hold it down for 30 seconds.

Then try again to access the router. Reconfigure the router's internet connection, depending on your ISP. Under Setup>Internet page, click the Internet connection Setup Wizard button to automatically configure the router.

Then for the wireless settings, go to Setup>Wireless Settings page, then click on the Wireless Network Setup Wizard to configure the wireless settings.

Ran the setup wizard for the d link di 514 but still cant connect to internet

Do you have Internet connection before you installed the Dlink router? Do you have cable or DSL? If you have DSL make sure you have the username and password from your Internet service provider because you need to enter those information when you run the set up wizard. You need to connect your computer to the LAN port of the router. Turn off computer and router, turn on router first then turn on the computer. Run the set up wizard again.

Router configuration

you need to open the configuration page of the ADSL router and enter the configuration settings manually.

into your browser type http://192.168.0.1 >> username: admin >> password: admin

then in the setup page...enter the correct setting provided by your ISP...like encapsulation...multiplexing..VPI / VCI etc...call them if you have to...then enter your username and password for your internet account (you need to contact your ISP also for this.)

if ever you still cant enter into routers setup page...you can reset it to factory default...at the back of the router...there is a small hole..(usually in red border).....

turn on router >> then push a stick into the hole (small stick enough for the hole) for about 5 secs...then try again http://192.168.0.1 >> username: admin >> passoword: admin

if you need further info...please post back. good luck

WEP encryption ana Wireless connectivity

  1. Open an Internet browser, and type http://192.168.0.1. If a "Configuration Assistant" appears immediately, then do not follow the rest of these instructions. Follow the Configuration Assistant instructions, instead. Once you are finished, test your Internet connection by browing online,
  2. Type admin for User Name, and password for Password. (Older routers use 1234 as the password.)
  3. Click OK. This logs you into the router
  4. Click Setup Wizard on the top left corner, Select Yes for the Setup Wizard to detect the type of internet connection and click Next.
  5. The Setup Wizard will detect the type of Internet connection. DSL connections which require a login to connect to the internet will be detected as PPPoE. Click Next
  6. Configure your router with the username and password provided by your ISP and click Apply.
  7. The router will now save these settings. When complete, you can verify whether you are connected to the internet from the Router Status > Maintenance menu.
  8. Verify you have a valid IP address (not-blank / 0.0.0.0) on the Internet Port assigned by your ISP

Ok I have done it a little different sometimes... try this approach... First connect up the DSL Modem to the PC via Ethernet.. Configure the modem from the PC using the Connect to the Internet Wizard... enter all ya ISP details Logon, Password etc. Once this is going OK.. Disconnect the Modem... and then connect it up to the "Router" using the "Uplink" port and when connect ya Modem to the router... then connect another Ethernet cable from Router to same port on ya PC. Then simply use the network setup Wizard to set up an Internet Connection and connect up via ya router thru ya modem... generally works for me....
