Question about Brother PC-6000 Pacesetter

1 Answer

I am having trouble with my tension on my Brother Pacesetter PC-4000. The top tension is fine, however, the bottom tension is loose where it can be pulled out. Typically, I know that you adjust the top tension, however, this has not helped. I do not know how to correctly adjust the bobbin tension. There are two screws, but do not know which one to adjust without the fear of messing it up even more. Thankyou!

Why does upper thread break?

Check your tension, especially the tension disks for loose thread. Then rethread the whole thing.

How to thread the bobbin on a brother vx-810

The sewing on the bottom is loose because you don't have enough tension on the TOP thread. First, make absolutely sure you are threading the machine correctly. Next, while using 2 different colours of thread, tighten the top tension dial one number at a time and then checking the stitching, continue tightening the top tension until the sewing is even on the top and bottom of your cloth.

PE-3000S Pacesetter won't pick up bottom thread

try changing the needle
also rethread the machine
clean under the needle plate & in the bobbin area for loose threads or lint
if these suggestions don't help the it's possible that the machine has jumped time & needs to be serviced

Tension is off. top thread is tighter than bobbin thread. And the machine is making a squeaking sound. have taken off the bobbin case and cleaned all around it.

usually a tension of 3 or 4 is good

rethread the machine, the thread is probably caught somewhere

also clean under needle plate where the feed dogs are for lint

What tension setting should I use for6 layers of polar fleece on my brother PS 1800?

Depending on the thickness of fleece I would go back about 1-2 settings, being that your tension on bottom is already set correctly

Zigzag stitch pulling tight, looks wrong

Try adusting the bobbin thread instead of the top. Always make sure to insert the bobbin so the thread is pulling in a clock wise direction. Both threads top and bobbin should have about the same resitance when pulled.

I'm having troubles with my brother sewing machine

Your tension is loose on top. Adjust your tension dial up a little at a time until you have a desirable stitch. Before adjusting the tension, you may want to look into the tension and see if there are any threads caught between the disc. If so remove them. Another common problem is that your machine is not threaded properly, make sure the pressure foot is in the up position when threading and if needed consult your manual for the proper threading diagram.

Tension problems

It sounds like your bobbin tension is too loose. If your needle went into the spare between the looper and the flat tensioner, the plate might need replaced, or removed and unbent.
