I'm getting the same problem on startup. And using the reset procedure of "Video 6" and "Source Up" also brings up the "Over Heat" notice. What now?

They only have so many self-protection cycles in their lives so continuously resetting or cycling their power without addressing the cause can do more harm than good.

A heat sink is just a finned heat-conducting device for radiating heat to the air which should be flowing freely through the unit's ventilation holes. It can't break in normal use. But it CAN get clogged with dust reducing its effectiveness.

"Choose a location that is well ventilated (with at least several inches to both sides and behind), and that will provide a clear line of sight, within 25 feet/8 meters, between the receiver's front panel and your primary listening/viewing position-this will ensure reliable infrared remote control communications. The T 743 generates a modest amount of heat, but nothing that should trouble adjacent components. It is perfectly possible to stack the T 743 atop other components, but the reverse usually should be avoided. Nonetheless, it is generally preferable that the T 743 stand alone. It is especially important that sufficient ventilation be provided; if you are contemplating locating the T 743 within a cabinet or other furniture, consult your NAD audio/video specialist for advice on providing adequate airflow."

If you're lucky, you haven't finally toasted it. If you have, a hands on tech will need to sniff sround (literally) to find the dead component(s).

Hi, have you checked the power button in the back to see if it got pressed by accident? It's a round button located right under the speaker inputs in the back.

My xbox freezes and flashes red

2 red lights is overheating, try giving it a dust out and if this does not work you will need to stop the heat build up inside.

To do this you can send it in or use a good Xbox 360 Repair guide to fix it.

Stop the heat and you will be fine.

Xbox 360 freez on two of my new games one same level jasper no lights lose controler function remove disk pic still on screen

The freeze ups normally happen before the red lights of doom and they are caused by the GPU and the CPU getting too hot and the soldering snaps off so they lose connection.

If you stop the heat build up you will be fine.

You can do this yourself using a good repair guide or you can send it in and they will fix it for you.

Once you stop the heat getting to the chips you should be fine.

NAD T743: The digital channels stop working after a short time.

Hmm, sounds similar to my problem. Analog input and FM seems to work but all coax/opto input are dead ( for me there isn't a buzz).
Have you, fredrik648, solved your problem?
Anyone with ideas what to do?

Thanks

My xbox 360 stopped loading

Heat needs to be removed from your xbox for it to function properly. If you are starting to see random lockups and odd artifacts in graphics it may be time to clean out your console. Keep in mind that in game lockups can also be caused by DVD issues but if can stick your xbox in a cold place and notice that this gives you stable play time then clean it of all dust. I am talking about taking it apart and giving it a good cleaning. If this does not help try a aftermarket fan.

DVD Drive failure most common problem, this ranges from dirty disk error (DDE) message to inoperable drive door, skipping in movies, slow load time or no load or the call customer service errors 10, 11, and 12. To replace the drive it will have to be reflashed.

Using NAD t743 with Panasonic DMP-BD55

The reciever you have has 5.1 inputs at the backof it.The only way to get Dolby True HD and DTS HD is to run the 7.1 analog out from the bd55 to the nad. You'll have to leave the 2 rear surround open on the bd55 leaving the remaining 6 connected to the nad. The digital coax and the optical will not transmit the hd data, only the analog out will. Run a hdmi right to your HD tv for picture bypassing your amp. this will workfine and you'll have the audio you want. You,ll have to change the input settings for dvd in your amp to 5.1 to recieve the audio.

Turns itself off

NAD Technical Bulletin T743-H2005-06 describes the problem "Unit may shut down, shortly after turn on".  Reason: There is a diode on the standby board that maybe operating intermittently.  Solution: Locate and identify D756 on the standby board.  Change only if the diode is a 1N4148.  Change from a 1N4148 to a 1N4004 or equivalent.
It is located near a transformer and some fuses.

Does not respond to remote control

I have had the T743 for about three years now. The first unit which I got from the local shop was doing exactily like your described after couple of minutes use. Well, I took is back and got a new one covered by the warranty.

Unfortunately I never got any explanation to this problem from my local shop or anywhere else, so I guess the only way is to contact your local shop.
