    • Have the same problems as mentioned with camera not turning on and lens is fully extended. Batteries are charged. Seems Kodak needs to do a recall!

Mine is doing the same thing. It won't turn on at all and the zoom is extended. I was hoping for a reset option/button somewhere. This was an awfully expensive camera to only be used for 8 months!

Camera turned on, lens extended, and then the camera tuned off with the lens still extended. This happened with a freshly charged set of batteries. Tried other batteries, but the camera will not respond. Tested the same batteries in other cameras, and they work. When I press the On/Off button the green power light blinks once, and that's it. So, I have a very lightly used camera that just stopped working. I used a Kodak DX4900 for approximately six years with no problem, but this Z1275 barely lasted one year. Very disappointing.

PROBLEM - Camera will not turn on at all regardless of battery used. Happened after about 8 months of use. Kodak instructed me to send the camera in of warranty repair. MCU was replaced. The unfortunate thing is that I have the same problem again, 7 months later and I am guessing it is not a warranty repair this time.

No. The Z1275 is not a battery charger. If you want to use rechargeable batteries then you must charge them outside the camera using a separate battery charger.

My camera will not stay on is off and stuck with lens out

If the lens doesn't retract on most digital camera the camera also will not turn ON. It is connection or wiring between camera power and camera lens.
What Kodak Rep will ask you to do are:
1. Remove the battery and the memory card of the camera
2. Check if your using a recommended battery and if its new or fully charge. batteries for Z1275 are Ni-MH rechargeable; CRV3 Lithium; 2AA Lithium
3. Insert the batteries back in the camera in correctly
4. Set the camera in Auto mode (its the camera icon on the dialing mode of the camera)
5. Try to turn it ON
If still will not turn ON and the lens will not retract
6. If your using a rechargeable battery Kodak Rep will ask you to charge the battery until its fully charge.
If your using a disposable battery they will ask you to try to use a new battery out from the box.
After all those steps still the camera failed to work, it will be send for repair. The number of the Kodak support line is 1 800 235 6325 (23KODAK)

My Z1275 kodak camera's lens wont retrack. turn it on and then it goes right off.

Remove the batteries and clean the battery contacts inside the camera with a soft cloth (a heavy buildup on the contacts may require cleaning with a fine wire brush, steel wool, or sandpaper). Remove any residue that the cleaning leaves in the camera, and then reinstall the batteries. This clears most power-on problems, but if yours persists, check the Kodak troubleshooting guide at:

Kodak EasyShare Z1275 Digital Camera software

Though I'm not sure how to solve this problem, I don't recommend using the program for downloading pictures at all, it's unecessary and slower. Without it, you can treat your camera the same as any other USB drive - open the camera drive as you do any other folder, and drag/drop or copy/paste picture files off of it.
