Do not know how to scan photos with HP Photosmart C4480. Please advise

1) The photo goes Face Down on the glass screen of the scanner, in the bottom right hand corner.
(If just one photo. If more than one place them edge to edge starting from the bottom right hand corner)

2) You can use the controls (Buttons) on the Photosmart itself, or use the HP Photosmart software on the computer. (I use the software on the computer. Seems to work much better)

[NOTE*
If you are using the HP Photosmart Software, the Optical Character
Recognition (OCR) software might not be installed on your computer. To install the
OCR software, you must re-insert the software disk and select OCR under the
Custom installation options]

HP Photosmart software on computer.
A) Click on Start (For WinXP. It's the Windows logo button for Vista and Win7)
B) Hover your mouse cursor on All Programs.
C) Click on HP Photosmart.
D) Click on HP Photosmart Scanner
