I'm using D-Link DU-560M USB Modem, when I connect internet, fax document is
no problem.
But when I want to received fax, only manual mode can use, when switch to
auto receive mode, the modem can't detect any ring, means the modem don't
know the phone is ringing.
I'm using Bitfax and Winfax, both software also can't detect any call in
coming in.
When I'm using Win98 anything is perfect, but now I already change to WinXP.
Anyone can help me solve this problem ?
Regards
Vincnt

How if, goto Start -> Printers and Faxes, then choose "setup faxing"?

Oh yes, I had done that too and it worked for receiving fax. But I quickly
removed it as I couldn't use the modem to dial up until I kill that service.
Quite annoying really.

WinXP.
I remember I had the same problem before, Win2k detects no ring but worked
fine in Win98.
Not sure how to solve the problem though.

It is a Windows policy settting.
1. Click Start > Run...
2. enter: faxserv.msc , click OK button.
3. Under 'Devices', you will see ur modem
4. Double click your modem name, and tick 'Enable receive'
5. click 'OK' and you are done!
Note: You can modify the default saving folder or print fax out once
received in 'Received Faxes' tab, after u double clicked 'your modem name'
Hope this help. :-)
