Question about Pyramid 10 BAND EQ 300 W WITH LIGHTS Car Equalizer

1 Answer

Installation This EQ only has 2 inputs to wire coming from head unit, then can be ran to 4 speakers. My CD player has 4 outputs to go to speakers how do you wire this? I tried doubling the positives and negatives to run to EQ but only got a constant rumble out of the speakers.

Take two out puts from your cd player and run them in the inputs of the equalizer and believe me they are going to work.Remember if the outputs from your CD player are of high note (out put)the volume should be kept at minimal to avoid the rumble.

How to wire it to make the bass cuts off when offing the eq

This unit has a separate EQ band for the subwoofer-- you'd connect the sub-out from your CD player to the sub input on the EQ, and the sub-out from the EQ into the input on the sub amp.
The "sub" slider would then adjust the sub volume.
If your CD player doesn't have a sub-out, and you are just using one of the regular front/rear outputs to feed the sub amp, then the sub volume will follow the other sliders toward the left side of the unit, which is less desirable.

Head unit connect

You will only be able to use this EQ on the front or the rear speakers. You will have to get another EQ if you think you need one. Usually, the front speakers of a car's audio system are the smallest and the rears are larger. You really do not want an EQ on the subs. If it was mine, I would hook the EQ between the head unit and the rear speakers. If you feel this does not sound right, you may need, but I doubt it very much, to get another EQ for the front speakers. Good Luck

Hi my name is james im having trouble with my audio coming out the speakers what should i do

1. Do you have power to the unit. I assume yes.
2. Ensure the fader and balance is set to neutral to ensure you have output going to all the speakers.
3. Ensure the speakers are connected.
4. Ensure the speakers are not out of phase, if they are they will cancel each other out, and sound muted
5. Always test new model head units with a cd. not fm radio. Using fm radio on some head units will mute the sound if the station is not coming in clear enough.
6. Set your volume up a little, like on 15 or 20 (using the digital 40 level radios) (halfway in plain language)
7. Ensure the mute isnt on
8. If running through and amplifer, ensure the power, ground, remote, gain and phase are all correct.
9. Ensure rca input is going into the correct place on the amp
10. Ensure speaker output is actually connected to speakers.
hope this helps

How to hook up a pyramid pro plus 4 channel pb-180px without using rca jacks for 6 by 9s

The pb180 has High Input receptacles on the back end. They are marked High Input and identified as Channels 1&2 left/right, and channels 3&4 left/right. You will need to identify all speaker wires coming from your head unit ( left front +&--) , and so on. You will be sending the speaker wires from the head unit to the pb180's High Inputs. In other words, the front left speaker wires(+&-) from the head unit will go to the High Input Channels 1&2 side, left input of the pb180, and so on, so the speaker wires coming out of the head unit will need to be cut. And LABEL all sets of speaker wires before you cut them! Then on the OUTPUT end of the pb180, you will be sending the wires back to the the respective speaker wires which are going to the speakers. So it's out from head unit to pb180 and out from pb180 to speakers.
Hopefully you have the plugs that Pyramid uses for the speaker wire inputs to the amp. If not you have to get creative, and make up terminals to fit into the input receptacles. Maybe a wire terminal from Radio shack will fit those pins..
Also, if you go on line: Google search "Pyramid auto amps" and click on "SEARCH" (upper right hand) of their Web Page. Plug in your model number like this, pb180, and you'll be able to download the manual for this amp. The manual has a full description of the wiring options.

Hope this was helpful and Good Luck!

Car amplifier has been removed, it was obviously in the trunk hooked up to nine speakers, etc. I just bought the car and there is a pioneer cd player and a seperate cd/dvd player under the passenger side...

I will assume that none of those wires are marked, thus leaving you with the cumbersome task of tracing each wire to its place of origin and properly marking them.

I will also assume that you have a standard hardware configuration whereas the in-dash head unit serves as an input selector and pre-amp for your aux.CD/DVD unit.

A possible shortcut would be to first identify the two power leads( one is a constant 12+ volts & one is a switched 12+ volts that is a remote power lead from the head unit) and the ground that was ran to the missing amp, mark and separate those from the group. Then with a test speaker trial and error those remaining signal (speaker) wires with the in-dash CD player on and loaded so as to find that units signal outputs (there may be more then one pair) You will need to identify left and right output signal pairs by adjusting the head units L & R control and marking those wires accordingly. Next with a pair of signal leads with output, temporarily connect them to all of the other unidentified signal pairs as to determine its speaker and marking them accordingly. At this point you should be able to make your left and right speaker connections.

Note: it will be wise to have a DC voltage tester to check for the missing amp power leads and signal polarity especially if you plan to install a new amp.

I hope this sheds a little light on your problem.

Good luck
Aduz

Have one wire for audio sub out, but two input ports to amp

This one Wire should be for the +. Try connecting the + to the Head Unit and - to a Common Ground. At the Worst, You will Blow the Amp Fuse if not Correct. The Lead from the Head Unit is Only an Off and On from the Ignition. Please Rate My Response! Thanks!
