Samsung TV model LN32A450C1DXZA, after turning the TV on it will turn itself off shortly after and then turn itself back on shortly thereafter. Then it repeats that several times before staying on.

Hi there,

If the tv is still under warranty, this can be repaired at no charge.

However, if not under warranty, you will need to have the CAPACITORS on the main power supply circuit board tested (or replaced).

The capacitors responsible for the power supply can sometimes fail - open the back panel. If the capacitors on the main power supply board look too fat, or signs of burning near the solder joints, then you've found the problem.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Scott

Samsung 216bw does not turn on initially. It starts to, then goes black. If I turn it off and back on several times, it finally stays on.

Hello,

The problem you are having is an indication of a failing power supply. There are parts called capacitors that fail and cause the power supply to not start up correctly. When you keep pressing the start button the voltages coming out of the power supply will finally stabilize and the monitor will display a picture until you turn it off then you have to start all over again. The power board can be easily repaired by replacing the ad capacitors. You can get information about the parts needed here: http://www.ccl-la.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=138 The repair will require you doing a little soldering but its very easy.

I hope this helps, if so please please rate our solution.

After pressing the power on button it starts to turn on but then makes a hissing sound and goes into standby mode. It takes several attempts before the screen wont make the hissing sound and finally stays...

Hello,

You have a monitor with a failing power supply. The Viewsonic VG2021M monitor uses the DAC-12M033 power supply board. After several years of use the capacitors in the power supply start failing and not keeping a charge. The capacitors are on the output side of the power supply and help filter and stabilize the voltages. When they fail the power does not settle when you turn it on so you have to do the on/off/on/off to get it to start. If you can solder then you should be able to repair your monitor. Check out the article on our site at: http://www.ccl-la.com/blog/index.php/repairing-the-westinghouse-lcm-20v5/ it is for the Westinghouse LCM-20V5 but they both use the same board so the repair information is the same. If you don't want to do the repair yourself we do offer a repair service for this unit, it runs $32 plus shipping. You can get more information on this service here:
http://www.ccl-la.com/blog/index.php/service-request-form/

I hope this helps, if so please rate our solution.

I am putting together a new PC...I have a Austin DR-B450ATX PSU...It has a wire with a flat 6 pin socket ...What is this wire for please...Many thanks

There are some power connectors that are not requires for your model motherboard. If there is no matching connectors on the motherboard then just make sure it is tucked away so it does not interfer with the fans.

What is voltage pin layout for the connectors on power supply model dr-b300atx

I assume you are talking of the 20 or 24 pin connector plugging into the Motherboard. Is it 20 or 24? Is there a 4 pin +12v connector plug. The colors of the wires tell a story. Red is +5V Black is Ground or Return. There is Yellow and Orange and Blue and green and gray. There are SATA connections . Look in your users manual of a standard Motherboard. This will give you a pinout and voltages on these pins. Write down the voltage starting with pin 1 and add the color to simplify knowing the voltages. If you're tech savvy, break out a multimeter for absolute certainty.

I would suspect this has issues with the power supply, I would put it down to faulty capacitors, take the back off and look on the power supply for domed shaped capacitors, they may also leak a brown liquid like substance.
Replace these and all should be ok if it is capacitor related.

Viewsonic VE175b

That issue sounds familiar. Some DELL displays have exactly the same problem, and, for some reason, the model of your display reminders me the 172Fbp model that I'm talking about.

I believe the problem that you are having with your display is caused by a short circuit inside the display, as the power supply detects the short circuit, it stops working. You may need to get a technician to have your display repaired.

If you want to know more information about this issue, here is the link with a similar problem: http://josepino.com/?howto-repair-dell

Good luck !

Comp. powers on, shuts down three times then goes into powersave

You may want to check the power supply fan whether it works properly or not. Also, you may need to check your BIOS setup if you had done anything with it.

My DR-B300ATX power supply is failing.

STOP...
Dont try to repair your Power suply unless you know what your doing. They can hold enough charge in its capacitors to electrocute you.

Just remove it from P.C. take it to a computer store and say: Eh hem, I need one of these to replace this one.

Make sure its got at least the same amount if not more connectors as the original, make sure its also the right type I.E. ATX POWER SUPPLY, and I would recomend getting one a little stronger than the one you blew out, something like a 350w

Probably get one for under $80.

replace and enjoy.
