When I turn my computer, it goes right back off,after several attempts it finally dose stay on. Once on I get no video. I have a Austin power supply model:DR-B300ATX and a ECS motherboard model:P4VMM2.Socket mPGA478B.Why is my computer doing this?

Did you open the case on your computer? It may have an open case alarm which is a small switch typically located near the edge of the cover you removed. Make sure the case cover is completely installed, then see if the alarm goes off.
I recommend you replace the switch mode power supply. These power supplies have dangerous mains voltage inside the unit and you should not try to repair if you do not have electronic knowledge. The cost of a 500 W ATX power supply should be approx. $100. It is not difficult to swap out the power supply, make sure you have the power connectors are the same as the old power supply.
There are some power connectors that are not requires for your model motherboard. If there is no matching connectors on the motherboard then just make sure it is tucked away so it does not interfer with the fans.
I assume you are talking of the 20 or 24 pin connector plugging into the Motherboard. Is it 20 or 24? Is there a 4 pin +12v connector plug. The colors of the wires tell a story. Red is +5V Black is Ground or Return. There is Yellow and Orange and Blue and green and gray. There are SATA connections . Look in your users manual of a standard Motherboard. This will give you a pinout and voltages on these pins. Write down the voltage starting with pin 1 and add the color to simplify knowing the voltages. If you're tech savvy, break out a multimeter for absolute certainty.
Sounds like when cleaning your computer, you have also cleaned your processors heat sink and fan. right.
if you have done this then there in lies problem. either your heat sink is not placed correctly or you forgot to apply a new thermal interface material. because once you remove the heat sink the interface material is of no use. you must apply a new one. and check that you have placed the heat sink correctly and firmly.
CHECK THE FAN REMOVE ANY DUST AND SPIN THE FAN PLUG IT IN AND TURN IT ON IF SAME PROBLEM THAN THE FAN IS BAD IN THE POWER SUPPLY AND YOU NEED A NEW POWER SUPPLY TAKE IT WITH YOU WHEN YOU GO TO THE COMPTER STORE FOR A NEW ONE
Robert was right make sure your computer is unplug from the power strip. now check the power supply cable to the mother board, then check the power cable to the harddrive, and then the DVD.once you put the power cable back into the computer you should get the power supply fan should come on, and the cpu fan should come on.
Next once you hit the on/off switch and green light should come on.
1) A lot of people have just removed the Jumper for the CMOS and turned the Power back on and back off and replaced the jumper and/or removed the battery.
2) Several people have reseated the Memory and after booting back up it worked.
3) A few had to replace the Mother Board and CPU but in this instance they had to also replace the Case because the Dell case wasn't really fit for the heat of from the CPU.
4) I had the exact same problem and luckily replacing the Power Supply fixed this for me. I had to cut out the back of the Dell case for the toggle on/off switch but when I tested the old Power Supply it was only getting 5amps and this was causing the Amber/Orange/Yellow light to constantly flash.
Sound like 'classic' failing capacitor symptoms to me... RMA the power supply if you're able to, start scraping together some cash for either a rebuild (replace capacitors) if you can't OR purchase a NEW PSU
Once you get the system running... I would recommend you leave it turned on 24/7 as this will keep the failing capacitors at a static temperature (instead of the heating/cooling cycle) thus milking the last bit off life out of it while you secure a replacement unit.
