Plz check whether the driver is installed, go to printers on control panel and try for a test page print, if test is printed, then could be ur software is looking that printer.

My computer won't recognise my USB cable (code 43 error)

Its maybe the printer is not compatible with your computer, will to try several steps to determine a solution,
1 try another USB to see if it recognizes it,
2 download and install the driver from the printer manufacturer
3 try another USB device into the same USB port to see if it recognizes it if it does then the USB on your computer works as it should,
if it does then the fault is either software or the printer compatibility.
4 follow step 2 if the problem persist then the answer is your printer is not compatible and will need to order one that works for your system.

We have a new computer running Windows 7and I am having problems installing my printer which is a HP Laserjet P1006. I reach the point where the instructions say to plug in the printer (USB) and power it...

It sounds like your laptop hasn't installed the driver from your install CD. If you go to hp.com and download the Win7 32 or 64bit driver depending on which OS you have installed and as you plug the USB lead in, the laptop should recognise the printer and complete the installation.
I am assuming that your laptop is also hp. If it isn't, go to the manufacturers web site and download the driver for the printer.
Hope that helps.

HP Officejet 6310 drivers will not install

When you install the printer wait till you are prompted to hook up the usb cable. If you hook it up sooner that is the problem. You can have the usb cable to printer but not to the computer. Then run your install disc and you should be fine.

New asus and dell computers not printing from old dell AIO 922 printer. Troubleshooter says usb port not enabled. What do I do?

You have not installed the correct drivers, and they install a Virtual Port, for the USB interface... You will have to install the drivers for that printer on each PC... before it will work. If you are using differing operating system you will have to get drivers for each, and install those.

Uninstall the printer from your Laptop. Switch off the laptop and restart it. Install the printer again on any USB port. And start printing.

Laptop doesn't recognize my printer

unusual not to be recognised, assuming you have followed the instructions word for word, eg not connected the printer until told to etc, you may have a problem with the usb port and not the printer, so to illiminate this try installing in a different usb port. Also try this driver from the Samsung web site http://www.samsung.com/Products/PrinterandMultifunction/BlackWhiteLaserPrintersforHomeandHomeOffice/ML_2010XAA.asp If still no luck then it's either the printer or a usb port problem, to illiminate the usb fault, go to my computer, right click>properties>hardware tab>device manager> and go down the bottom of the list to usb controllers, click on '+' sign, right click and select uninstall. Restart pc and all the usb controllers will be re installed automatically. Try the printer again, if still not installing the fault must be the printer.
