Htc's running windows mobile are going to need a program called Activsync to properly connect with your computer. With Activesync you'll be able to share files, emails, favorites, and contacts between Outlook Express and your phone. To get Activesync click the link below: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=9e641c34-6f7f-404d-a04b-dc09f8141141&displaylang=en

Some of the threads can get quite complicated, Goodluck!
A common problem with the Moguls, do you have a lot of programs installed on the main memory, try to install programs on a memory card, also delete unused files and move what you can over to the memory card. It helps to close programs completely instead of letting them run in the background. Mine froze up a lot but moving stuff to the memory card helped. Goodluck!

Using pdanet from June software you can use phone as modem..with laptop. June software is $29 one time (make sure you get the windows mobile software if you have a mogul) or sprint will charge you $15 a month. Also with june software make sure you have unlimited data plan. Ive been using june software for about 4+ yrs.....no problems.
There is an extensive literature for unlocking and modding the htc 6800 Mogul to other service providers. Modding means extending the Moguls's capabilities way beyond what was even offered by Sprint and the native HTC firmware.
