Question about Kenmore Elite 45986 Front Load Washer
Keep getting error code F H more and more frequently. now washer will not complete any cycle. there does not seem to be any less water flwoing in during cycles. troubleshoot guide says it is water input problem, but doesn't tell where filters are or how to get at them. any help would be appreciated
**Before you begin make sure to turn off either the hot and cold water valves.**
The resolution is to remove the hot and cold water hoses connected to the back of the washer and remove and clean the microfine filters located inside washer's intake valves.
*The purpose of the filter is to capture all of the mineral deposits from harsh or rusted water particles.*
Basically, unscrew the hoses (connected directly to the back of the washer)
Carefully, remove the filters (they are very sensitive and could puncture easliy)
Clean them off with an old tooth brush in soapy water.
Finally, replace the filter(s), hoses and finally turn on the hot and cold water valves and best of all you will save yourself about $125!

Thanks! the stop and re-start worked for me. I am at a vacation rental and have never operated this model of washer b4. I interrupted the cycle to add soap and got the F H code. Now here's another question, since there is not operating manual here, when do you add the soap for this model? At home in my top load, I start the water, add soap, then put clothes in. This obviously does not work with front load.

Check the air trap (bottom of tub) on the south end of the air tube attached to the pressure switch (top right rear under the top cover). Mine was plugged with 7 years of crud causing an FH error code, stopping the wash cycle. Great machine - saved hundreds of bucks I suspect.

I took off the panel at the back of the unit. the area where the hoses are attached. there is a small screen filter there. (like the one on a sink faucet). i cleaned it and the washer has worked perfectly ever since. no more FH error code...by the way this means low water inflow.

Where it says Kenmore elite, try pulling this out it is a compartment. It holds your laundry detergent, bleach, and fabric softner. The compartment just blends in. Good luck you will enjoy the wash.
