It may be that your volume button has broken on the inside. If this has happened, then it may be that the momentary on switch has been forced down and is pinned down by the broken piece of plastic/metal. If the volume is stuck all the way up/down then I'm probably right. As long as you have a warranty that is still in effect, you can get the device fixed or replaced.
