Try and reinstall the driver software. IF you had scanned only one page and also had chosen multipage option, the second side will not be visible, unless you use a proper software that can display 2nd side.

A virus can make life very difficult and confuse the heck out of you. What I recommend is to download the free version of Malwarebytes first here;
http://www.malwarebytes.org/
Click on "download free version" and allow to run. Click on "next , "allow", "continue", etc., until finished. You will either be prompted to restart or, it will run a quick scan right away. If it does not run the free scan immediately then restart. When the system comes back up, it will either then perform the quick scan or, click on your "Malwarebytes" icon and, in the screen that appears, click on and run "quick scan" When finished it will ask to make necessary repairs, allow this. Later you will want to run the full scan but we will get to that.
You can download a free version of software here;
http://www.avira.com/en/avira-free-antivirus
Scroll down to Free anti virus "green" download box and click on it. Click , next, allow, continue, etc., until download is finished. You will then be instructed to restart or run a scan. Follow recommended proceedures. When all is doine, you will want to adjust your settings to suit your needs, such as: daily scan, weekly scan, etc. I recommend a daily scan scheduled to run at a time when you are away from computer.
OK. At your earliest convienience, I would double click on the Malwarebytes icon and run a full scan. This will take a few hours but, is necessary. at the end let it make necessary repairs.

When I do the webroot sweep with the new version they automatically installed, it never finishes. After a couple hours I click out of the program. I have tryed to call their tech support many times and...

I'm not thta familiar with Webroot but, is this the first antivirus you've had? Does it have a settings tab? Does it have options; quick scan, full scan? Quick scans are usually take somewhere from 5 to 20 minutes. Full scans(if system hasn't been scanned before or has issues) could take hours. If you can change your settings, you may want to schedule your scans for the wee hours of the morning so you don't have to wait for scan to complete.

How do i select a location for my scanner to scan to?

When you scan something, it should either automatically save to the documents file, or will prompt for you to "save as" and allow you to rename the document scanned and let you save it in the file of your choice.

If you have the software installed for this scanner, go into the options menu of this, and look for "setup" information, or seach the help option for further details for setting up a default location for saving scanned documents.

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

How to set auto scan for viruses upon removable storage devices connection using AV software?

You have to set them under schedule scans, and they must always be plugged in and started with windows for them to be recognized.

On the schedule scan page they should be listed under the hard drives.

Schedule scans are auto, but must be told when to scan and what to scan.

Hi,
I have AVG as well and know the aggravation. I guess I can't complain too much, my version is the freebie.
I just hate that you can't stop the scan even when you tell it to cancel.
About all I can suggest, is that you go into your settings and create a scan schedule for your PC, to run when you're not using it. Mine is scheduled to run at midnight. Leave the PC on that day to insure the scan takes place, or it will want to scan whenever you next turn on the PC.
AVG has been a good protection for my PC.
Hope this helps...
