What I do is take the carb off being careful not to break any gaskets, take it completely apart soak it in carb cleaner blow the parts dry and reassemble. replace the fuel tank filter, plug if fouled, and readjust the HI & LO speed jets. Works for me several times, leaving fuel in the tank and carb it gums up, run the carb dry before storing.

SOURCE: echo blower motor will not rev.full throttle--only about half

Check the insulator block and associated gaskets behind the carb. Sometimes the insulator block crack and reduce the amount of vacuum to the pulse diaphragm.

SOURCE: i have an echo gas powered leaf blower, model

I just fixed my Echo PB 2100 with the same issue. It would start, run, all throttle openings OK but would not rev-up. It was a dirty/clogged screen on the muffler. Scraped the thick tar off then used Lacquer Thinner to soak it clean. Blower works better than ever now....

SOURCE: Echo PB413H running rough

Hello:

From your Description it Sounds like the Exhaust is Restricted or the "H" Mixture Screw Resuires Adjusting.
>>The Following is a Basic Instruction File for Doing a Diagnostic on the Engine for this Problem. Any Input is Appreciated.
>>**Remove the Muffler and Make Sure the Exhaust Port is Clear.
>>If it is, then Try to Start the engine with the Muffler Off.
>>If it Starts and Runs Properly, then Clean the Spark Arrestor Screen in the Muffler or Replace the Muffler if Required.
>>The Following is the Instruction File for Setting the Air Mixture Screws. Any Input is Appreciated. The Procedure is the Same for 1 or 2 Mixture Screws, Just Use the Instruction File and Skip Over the Section with the Missing Mixture Screw ( Usually the H Mixture Screw).
>>Now Setting the Air Mixture Screws:
>>****Turn the Idle Air (L) and Main Air (H) Mixture Screws In Until SNUG **Do Not Jam** Then Reverse Both Screws 1 1/2 Turns. Set the Throttle Full Open, Start the Engine.
>>Turn the Main Air (H) Mixture Screw Clockwise Until Proper Revs are Obtained. **Carefully Use your Finger and Move the Governor Arm to Rev the Engine (on Chainsaws and Trimmers Use the Trigger to Rev the Engine) Until you Reach Max RPMs (on Chainsaws and Trimmers, the RPMs are Not Set to MAX. Set to Max and then Reverse the Setting Screw 1/4 or 1/2 Turn. If the H Mixture Screw is Set too High; the Engine will be Starved for the Oil in the Gas and Damage the Piston and Jug/Cylinder) and the Engine is Running Proper at Full Throttle Up a Grade and for Chainsaws and Trimmers they Do Not Bog DOwn Under a Load. Occasionally you May have to Turn this Counter Clockwise to Achieve the Proper Revs.**
>>Now Allow the Engine to Idle. Set the Engine Idle Screw (Not Idle Air) so the Engine will Stay Running if Required.
>>Now Set the Idle Air (L) Mixture Screw so there is No Hesitation when Rapidly Throttling from Idle to Full Throttle. Reset the Engine Idle if Required.****
Please, Do Not Hesitate, If I Missed Something or you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem, I am Here if You Require More Assistance.
Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Be Safe and Be Happy. Thanks.

Good Luck

Respectfully

SOURCE: echo leaf blower..cranks fine, idles fine, will

Sounds like restricted exaust. Remove the muffler and start it, see if that fixes it. If yes clean remaining carbon from exaust port. And clean spark arestor screen.

Blower does not get any fuel. Installed new carb checked and removed fuel filter and air vent and still wont start. why is it not getting any fuel? what have I missed?

One question: Is the unit equipped with a primer? If so what does priming do? If it wont prime do the following:
Check your fuel lines to verify they arent collapsed or blocked. Also replace the fuel clunk in the gas tank. Check fuel cap vent for blockage too. Finally, make sure the fuel lines havent been crossed. Good luck and be careful!

How do I clean a float needle seat on Echo blower?

pull carb off, dissemble it and replace needle and diaphram (carb kit) and clean it thourghly and then also make sure your tank vent is working properly cause if not it will drain your fuel tank also and fill your crankcase and cylinder with fuel !

Blower starts and runs for 5 seconds and cuts off. Is it an oil to gas ratio. Is is 32:1 or 40:1? For the Echo PB250 gas blower.

I don't think the oil-gas ratio will cause that problem. Did you check to see if the fuel lines or fuel filter is clogged?

Will start and idle only....when giving gas, motor dies...unit is new Echo PB-250 blower and the problem just started...only used 4 times...

There is probably dirt blocking the main fuel supply to the engine. You need to strip and clean the carb, preferably fitting a new carb kit at the same time. Clean out all the passages and orifices by blowing them out, but be careful of loosing small parts like filter screens and screws.

My Echo PB 235 starts fine, and runs. It will ONLY do so, however, when the choke is on, or about 15% off. Any other position causes the blower to stutter and quit abroubtly. ( ie: Moving the choke to...

Have you drained all the old fuel mixture out? As well as taking out the spark plug and cleaning it should do the trick. I suggest giving it a little tuneup.

I have an echo pb-250 blower. This is the second blower ive had issues with. I have had it for maybe three months and this is the second time that ive experienced this problem. I can easily start it but...

what you need to do is remove the white plastic plug just above the diaphram gskt in the base of the carb use a pick or drill bit (but only turn it by hand) till you get it out then you will see a screw which will take a small flat blade screwdriver, start and warm up the blower then turn that screw counterclockwise till your Blower runs right on full throttle. the new equipment made now a days is set so lean for emissions that one change in the weather will affect how they run..... 2StrokeJim

Only three months old and used twice now it won't start we chnaged the gas brand new with new mixture. It boggs and just dies. ECHO PB250

My research shows that a consumer gets a 5 year warranty and a commercial user gets a 2 year warranty on any Echo equipment they buy. Could you consider getting some warranty service on this unit since it is still under coverage? It sounds like a fuel delivery problem (carburetor adjustment maybe), but I also realize that some of the newer "rotary" type carburetors in use don't have the Low and High speed mixture adjusting screws like the old-style diaphragm carburetors that preceded them.

Only runs on choke, will not rev-up. took exaust off did not change, fuel is filter clean, plug has been cleaned, new fuel and let idle till it got hot, still will not rev-up

Your description sounds like fuel restriction in the main circuit. Sometimes you need to soak the carb in carb cleaner and then blow out passageways with compressed air.

There is one "cheat" but it involves some higher throttle, and that is you remove the air filter, rev up the unit and briefly place palm over the intake. Sometimes this is enough to pull the obstruction free.
