Lexmark 2600 installed-scanning works fine connected USB cable but can not print from computer

Plz try by reinstalling the drivers and check are you printing from the correct printer

Installed new printhead on Lexmark s305 and now my adobe photoshop elements 10 program can not scan but prints fine.


A quick fix for most communication errors can be achieved by resetting the printer and/or rebooting the PC. Simply disconnect the printer from your computer (if USB connected)> reboot your pc > unplug and re-plug the printer into the power source to reset it. When the printer turns on, reconnect it to your computer (if USB connected). Then try to print again once the computer fully recognizes the USB connection or when the WiFi light on the printer turns solid green (if WiFi connected.).


If that doesn't help, try the steps below:

  1. Disconnect the USB cable connecting the printer from your computer.
  2. On your computer, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes.
  3. Delete the Lexmark print object.
  4. Reboot computer.
  5. Re-brick your printer by pulling out the power supply - black box where the power cord is plugged into on the back of the printer, and re-plug after 30 seconds.
  6. When the printer turns on, reconnect it to the computer.
  7. Wait until your computer fully recognizes the USB connection. To check, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes. If you see a new Lexmark print object in the list, try to print a document to verify that the problem is fixed.

You may also try to update your printer driver by visiting the Lexmark website at http://bit.ly/guXLhl. Select your operating system, download and execute the file.

My printer want scan to pc

I have a Lexmark 2600 all in one. When I changed the black ink #14 I got a realign message, printed the alignment page but get no response when I push scan button on machine. I can scan from the computer...


1. The software that came with the printer must be installed for the scan button, on the printer,to work. The software also has to be running.
2. If this is the case, and the scan button on the printer is the only thing not responding and it is still not working, then uninstall the printer software and reinstall follow the directions given with the printer. This usually intails:
Power on the scanner, un-plug the USB cable from it and begin a fresh install.

You will re-connect the USB only when the program tells you and not before. Let it finish.

REBOOT computer and window will find the new hardware.

Only do this if you already tried the "1." step first. Sometimes reinstalling the print software will resolve this issue.

My scanner will not scan


Do you have the appropriate drivers installed? http://support.lexmark.com/index?page=recommendedDownloads&locale=EN&productCode=LEXMARK_X2470&segment=DOWNLOAD&userlocale=EN_US#1 has the drivers for supported OS versions. Uninstall any generic driver and disconnect the data cable before installing the Lexmark software if using the USB cable. Are you starting the scan from the computer or the scanner? (Is the monitoring program running on the computer to hear the buttons?) Try launching a scan from the computer.

Try a new USB cable and a direct connection if you use a USB hub or print server. Scanning requires two-way communication so a bad cable will block scans even when the printer works.

Some scanners have a transportation lock; make sure that it is unlocked. (Usually located near the hinge of the scanner cover).

i have the lexmark x5150 printer that is giving me the cartridge error 50c-- what does this mean [other than i need to buy a decent model]? i hate this thang!
