Question about Projection Televisions

1 Answer

I have a Funai HDR-B2735 dvd/video cassette recorder with HDD. When turning the machine on, it automatically switches off with the screen displaying the message "System error 02/56" before going to standby. When on standby the LED readout shows a flashing "W" next to the clock. I have tried mains switching the machine off and on, and resetting it. By doing either the machine will boot up as normal, but still switch off after a few minutes. Do you have any advice as to what the problem is, and how I can fix it without recourse to calling in an engineer? Thanks.

Exact same symptom as above, little flashing "W" on standby, error code 02-56 on switching the unit on, promptly turns itself off. It would help no end if Funai would publish a little bit more info about these error codes on their site, or have a forum somewhere. Gona try a factory reset and a replacement HDD, dont know if i could replace it with a new one or not. any ideas or experience with these errors would be greatly appreciated!

We have a Philips DVD Recorder a Freeserve Digital box and a TV. Since adding the DVD Recorder we cannot tune in Freeserve at all and DVD's play only in black and white. Help Please. ...

Hi Jack,

And if you remove the DVD Recorder, everything is back to normal?

Initially, I would suspect that your DVD is set to PAL system and not to NTSC (or could be the other way around). Could you pls post back with the exact model number of the Philips DVD Recorder?

Additionally, could you pls detail how the Freeserve Digital box is connected to the Philips DVD Recorder and then to the TV? Pls indicate if you are using Video IN/OUT, S-Video, HDMI, SCART, RF IN/OUT.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

I have a Toshiba DVD Video Player Model SD 260. I

Hello, The problem could be dirt on the surface of the lens, you can clean this by removing the cover of the dvd player . Gently use a dry cotton bud to clean the lens because the lens is fragile. Insert the disc plate into the dvd player and press play, if it does not play try the second method. Ensure the cover of the player is open, connect the power plug to the mains socket and observe the lens if it beam a red light, Also check the ribbon cable use to connect the lens to the printed circuit board, then gently clean the lens with a dry cotton bud , insert the disc plate and press play to see if it play. If it does not play the disc, then this require a change of the lens

Disc will not finalize error comes up as e19 can not record to the disc. the show is actually recorded and will play back just not finalize. have tried -r/ +r and + rw and get the same message. unit being...

You don't need to delete timer rec programs to Finalize, Format or Erase discs!

Set the Mag 2160A (mfgd in 2009) to Source L3 (DV) using the Source button on the remote.

To Format a RW disc, set unit on L3 BEFORE inserting a new disc cuz the Formatting op is automatic and starts right away. It's also so short on a +RW (longer on a -RW) that you could think it had been Formatted.

Finalizing requires you to select it from the Disc Edit menu, so you can set the unit on L3 after inserting a disc for this op.

Mitsu 57731 problems have wide bar across screen

This is an ongoing problem with Mitsubishi DLP HDTV's contact the Customer Service at 1-800-332-211. Tell them this has been going on for a while and you want the TV either Fixed or Replaced. Ask for Adrianne Hardt, she is a Customer Service Manager...... TELL HER RICK GRIFFITH told you to call.

I am in the 4th week negociations with Mitsubishi over these exact problems. I purchased my 57" DLP HDTV in Aug of 06. Replaced the Lamp 3 times and have had 5 Service calls. I DO NOT have and extended Warranty. Mitsubishi provided me with the extention in writing and stated if any problem occurred again they would replace the Unit or provided monetary compensation.

Good Luck and be persistant.

Any of you can email me for from info and covette54@live.com

Magnavox mrv640-accidentally turned on progressive scan

Had exactly the same problem. You need to reset the DVD recorder to it's default setting. The default is "interlaced".

From the users manual.........

Switching the DVD Recorder
1
Disconnect the recorder's power cord.
2 Hold down the FF button (arrow pointing left) the front of the DVD Recorder while
reconnecting the power cord. 'PRO' (progressive scan) will appear
on the display.
3 If you want to switch back, repeat steps 1 and 2 . 'PRO'
(progressive scan) will disappear from the display. The DVD
Recorder is switched to 'Interlaced.'

The manual is at:

http://www.m4c.magnavox.com/files/m/mrv640_17/mrv640_17_dfu_aen.pdf

See page 12

It worked for me.

Ineed a manual for a H2080MW8 DVD Recorder

The Magnavox H2080MW8 is actually manufactured by Funai; you can find the manual on their website at this link: http://www.funai.us/funai/support/index.html. Just click on "Owners Manual," type in your model number ("H2080MW8"), and search; the manual will pop up below as a *.pdf, so just right-click on it and choose "Save As..." to save it to your computer.
Good luck with that thing. I bought the same DVR last May (2008), and I'm currently on my 4th replacement from the manufacturer. When it's working, it's fine; nothing special to it, just a basic DVR. However, I've had all kinds of problems with my original and 3 replacement units screwing up recordings, failing to detect ANY channels (digital or analog), and refusing to open the DVD tray. You can see my Amazon review of the thing here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R2RZFE2BMA4GT0/ref=cm_cr_rdp_perm
