External display doesn't work anymore

you need to change the ear speaker, your ear speaker is dead
place new ear speaker it will solve the problem

Just select the menu on the phone, then go to settings, then phone settings, select Date and Time setting, in which you will see where they ask you whether you want the date to show on the desktop of the phone, then select yes, so as to return back your date to the screen.

I talked with Motorola Tech Support. The software for this phone does not have an option to Turn On or Turn Off the display of the "Time" on the External Display.

Motorola suggested to do a Master Reset. I did this and rebooted the phone. This did not fix the problem. So no Time on the Display, but everything else works.

Log into your TalkSwitch Management Software.
Go to Telephone Lines.
Under each incoming line make sure that Caller ID is checked.
Click File> Save
Hopefully this will fix it for you.

I have the same problem, but what I realized is that it still works, however it is just very faded. When it is pitch black, you can see the display of time and all the other info on the outer screen. Still looking for a solution to this problem :S

you have a magnet in the top of the housing that is loose it is needed to make the motorola display works....so you can take it to a mobile service center and have them fix it for you.

I had the same problem. I sent it back to Motorola for warranty. They fixed it and said it was a connection issue.The connection between the screen and the keys came unplugged. This is a regular problem they have with this phone. The phone is poor quality!!!!

go to main menu then to settings push ok push ok on display/info
push ok on wallpaper can you see it now

Does anything show on the external display if you go to take a picture, but before you acually take it, close the phone and look on the external display as if you were taking a self-portrait?
To make fully sure, while the phone is closed, press a volume button - does anything show on the display? If so, the external display functions and it would be a setting that may have been overlooked.
Go to Menu > Settings > Initial Setup > Display Timeout
or:
Menu > Settings > Personalise > Home Screen

have the LCD screen replaced take it to a mobile service center and have it replaced there.
