Sounds like a short key is being activated when you are pressing series of buttons disable short keys on your PC options menu or hold down the shift key then disable the short/hot keys menu
Odds are it just died but you can try programming it just to make sure.
Locate the smart/learn button on the rear of the motor unit near where all those white wires go. Press and immediately release this and then walk over to the keypad and key in your 4 digit code and press enter. If this doesn't work it is dead. You can get a replacement keypad at Sears. Be sure to take the model number of the old keypad with you. It should be on the back of the old one. If not, take the model number of your opener. There are several models of keypads and all of them wont work with your opener.
I fitted a new keypad on my 960i some time ago (funnily enough for the same reason - no.7 not working!) and I'm pretty sure you will find that when your new membrane arrives, it is a complete unit with buttons and contacts all enclosed together, connected to the phones' circuit by a ribbon with a tiny plug on the end.. hope this helps....
front key pad needs replacment. it fits like a sticker on the front panel. Before you can remove it, remove the outer cover and disconnect the ribbon cable.Once done, peel off old keypad from front and reverse proceedure with new one.Reconnect ribbon cable.

You can try programming but if it still doesn't work then your keypad is just bad. Locate the smart/learn button on the rear of the motor unit near where all those white wires go. Press and immediately release it and then walk over to your keypad and key in your 4 digit code and press enter.
You're kind of vague on your problem. If it's the smaller blue numbers for the calculator, you will need to use the function (fn) key. Hold the fn key and press the key the reads number lock (num lock), this should return the keys back to letters. You can find more info on the fn key and numbers lock under help in the start menu. If this isn't your problem, be more specific, and I'll be more than happy to help.
If you are referring to the Number keypad. Tap the "Num lock" key and you will see a light flashing. Make sure the light is on when you stop. Now try the keypad.
