Try this

- Remove the cartridge that is not working. - look for a lint free cloth "coffee filter" then dump w/ water - clean the copper contacts of the cartridge - make sure that the air vent is open; if not pinch it a bit - remove all the cartridges - check if there are are inks spills - use lint free cloth to clean the part where you are have trouble with - install the inks again - run alignment and clean cartridges on the panel
if still nothing works, call HP tech support and ask for replacement of the ink.
note: they will do the same steps again for troubleshooting and documentations. the reason why this happens: - that the copper contact does not touch each other - cartridge air vent is sealed - not an orig HP ink - Print head problem, needs cleaning

My HP Officejet 5610 All-In-One InkJet Printer keeps randomly popping up with cartridge error. Take the out then reinsert to no avail. changed with new. still keeps popping up

If the "new" cartridges were brand new HP oem cartridges, there are two things I would do. First, take out the cartridges and inspect the contact area (where the electrical in the printer meets the electrical on the cartridge) and make sure there is no dirt or ink on the contacts. Secondly, remove both of the cartridges, close the lid, and pull out the power cord while the printer is on. Wait at least 10 minutes, plug in, power up and wait until it is done making noises. Open the lid and insert the black cartridge first(important!) and then the color. If this doesn't take care of the issue, replace the printer. (If you're sure the carts were brand-new)

It is showing cartridge error and the print button is not lighting. I changed cartridge on the right when it said it may be deffective but still it is showing cartridge errror.

This is an unique problem of HP printer all-in-ones.The red light continuously blinks and it says cartridge error.
Just reset your printer. i.e.
1. Without switching off the mains, press hash and 6 simultaneously,
2. Keeping them still pressed, remove the power connector.
3. Still pressing, wait for 90 secs.
4. Still pressing, insert the power connector.
5. Your print button will come yellow-you remove the fingers now and do the aligning.
The main reason for this is use of non-HP cartridges. I also got suckered once. I refilled cartridges from cartridge world

How do you change the ink carterage in an hp officejet 5610v all-in-one?

Hello !

To change the ink cartridge(s) in your printer,

Open the print-carriage access door by pulling it forward.

The print carriage moves to the far right side of the HP All-in-One.

Remove the cartridge.

Take the new cartridge from the package.

Remove the strip from the cartridge without touching the metal back.

Insert the cartridge.

Hope this helps.

For HP 5510 series for replacing the cartige, you need to lift the door just above the paper tray. Pull out the old cartidge, hold it so you can see the way it is inserted and click in gently in the same way.
