Hello,

An external drive would have a cable you connect to the back of your tower. An internal would not have this but would connect directly to your motherboard on the inside of your PC Tower.

Based on your follow up question it appears you want to connect to an inside pin out connection point. Is this right? And if so, what type of cable do you have that need to connect? Is it thin and round or flat and wide?

Thank you for your patience. One of use will be able to help you further once you post this information. Sorry, but we actually need to konw this in order to solve your problem.

Regards,
Worldvet

I HAVE A PROBLEM,PLZ HELP. MY PC HAS NO POWER EVEN I REPLACES A NEW POWER SUPPLY.MY MODEL IS ECS P4VMM2 REV.8.1

A 4 pin square connector on ATX boards must be connected to power up, also if you have a bad device such as hard, floppy, or CDROM drive, it could keep the power supply from coming on.

Start up error message issue: floppy disk fail

if im correct, you havent installed a floppy drive yet...
while the comp is booting press esc (on some comps its F10 it should say on the screen) and access the boot sequence..in there there is a list of boot items...they always list floppy drive as the first boot drive in case you need to recover your comp...remove floppy drive from your boot list making sure that your hardrive (C) is first drive to boot.
After you get your comp set up, you may want to change that sequence in case you ever have problems with your HDD

I cannot boot windows xp

Hi praph_wicked, normal order would be, floppy drive first, CDROM second & Primary hard disk drive third.
How ever if your bios does not comply you can always press the F8 key every two seconds & that should bring up (Please select boot device). Which will look like this;

54d9788.jpg
Choose the CDROM drive with the windows CD in it.
If you have just one CDROM drive, make sure the jumper on the back side of the CDROM is set to "Master". If you have two CDROM drives connected, set one as master & the other to slave.
If using an IDE cable for the two CDROM drives. The CDROM at the end of the data connector is to be set as master, the 2nd CDROM connects to the next IDE connector & Its jumper is set to slave.

Good luck!
Mike

Ilunable to read from hard drive or cdrom from p4i65g

Try changing the IDE cable which connects your CDROM to motherboard. Also make sure that Master/slave configuration are properly set if both the hard disk and the cdrom are connected with a single cable

Installing an old hardrive to a new computer

depending on the BIOS type, there must be a method to disable IDE-0 from booting. If no method found, try booting from floppy disc and then run setup.exe from CD. Try to find this in the BIOS settings, then enable it again after you have fixed the Windows.
