I had problem of not detecting the Kingston 2GB pendrive in my Vista Ultimate. I just plugged the device and did a restart, and went to device manger located the yellow colored part right clicked and opted for update the driver and selected the windows to do automatically after several minutes the device became ready to use

Pen drive not working what I do

If the flash drive is not detected, it means there is damage to hardware.

Flassh drive hardware malfunction, there are two types
1. Cracked solder.
Solution: Open the flash drive casings, heat the tin solder.

2. Resistor (R) broken
Solution: Open the casing flash drive, flash drive instead of resistors.

When ever i plug my pen drive to the pc it is not detected & 1 error is given that the hard drive is not recogonized. due to malfunction....etc

it is because your USB port is not working and has malfuctioned you should try inserting your pendrive on other ports

may be your USB port is not working. try another port and one more thing may be you plugged the usb in that port and it shorts the usb and port too then might be your pen drive is not working
