That has a PLL tuner that retunes everytime you change channels so there is no fine tuning.

If it is out of tune, then the tv needs repair. If you need to switch from Air to Cable or Cable to Air and then Autoprogram, that would be in the menu.

The model number does not appear in my Philips cross reference. Generally, the Menu is a seperate button or pressing the Volume Up and Down together until the Menu displays.

It cannot be done without the original remote---they are not that expensive--Google the model number with "remote" and do not bother with a universal remote.

Can I reset the lamp timer without the original remote

No, original remote is needed for this--a universal will not cut it.

If Panasonic the remotes are usually reasonably priced and have all the features you really need.

all you do is turn your tv on. if mesage appears then push exit on the remote, then hold the volume down button on the tv , and at same time hold split button on the remote for 5 to 10 seconds. then a message will appear that lamp meter has been reset to 0.

Reseting The Projection Lamp Hours Meter

If you need the original remote, you can order the original Panasonic replacement remote control for this model (PT-50LC14) from a major Panasonic parts distributor at the link below:

Panasonic PT-50LC14 Replacement Part Remote Control

Sometimes there's a way to reset the counter by mashing certain keys on the TV itself in a sequence, but if your owner's manual doesn't specify this option, then you may have to get the original replacement remote to be able to reset it.

Left side and right side are blury.

With projection sets, there is typically several settings for which you can display an output. You probably have a "wide" or "stretch" as a setting for the tv. What you want is normal, or some setting which doesn't result in a stretch. Widescreen projection tv's try to stretch 4:3 output into the widescreen setting, but usually this just results in the middle being in focus, and the outer 20% to be stretched on each side, bluring the edges.

Try to manipulate as many "tv settings" as possible. For most sets this is only available with the original remote. If you don't have the original remote, changing these settings could prove difficult.
