Sigma SD10 battery fault - Cameras

Hello & thanks for your reply. The SD10 allows me to take one photo & then the battery low indicator starts flashing. I am unable to take any more photos without first disconnecting the battery back briefly. This happens even when I have put brand new batteries in. I cannot take continuous shots either, just one at a time. Many thanks, Glyn.

Good idea. Thanks very much, I'll give it a try.

Try cleaning the internal contact in the battery chamber.
a pencil with an eraser on the end is a useful tool

Cigarette lighter does not work for charging in a 2009 Jetta

It won't charge in any other car, either. The SD10 is a camera, not a battery charger. To charge the battery, remove the battery from the camera, put it into the supplied battery charger, and plug the battery charger into a power source. See page 20 of this manual.

Battery doesn't hold charge, never has

Try regular batteries and not rechargables . Recharge batteries not the best to hold charge.

I'm using my Sigma SD10 DSLR and whenever I plug in the USB cable to the camera and into my computer, Windows attempts to install the drivers, but it fails and I am not able to upload any photos at all....

Don't connect the camera to the computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.

Sigma EF-500-DG, does not charge and does not become ready

Hello

Thank you for using FixYa for your problem

Always check the batteries first - make sure they have full charge (in the wrong way can discharge them) but if is it still giving the same fault, your flash is faulty.
It should be taken to an authorized repair centre for a repair estimate. Very few digital cameras have any user-serviceable parts.

Please rate our solutions and if you still have problems please call back for more ideas to help you

Hi, I've got a Sigma SD9 camera that I took to the repair shop 3months ago because the battery cover broke. The repairman keeps telling me he cannot locate this part. Is he BSing me or is this part...

Hi,
Well, while still perfectly usable, SD9 is not exactly a recent model (introduced in 2002), so I can imagine your repairman might have problems locating parts for it.
I would suggest looking for a broken "donor" camera to get the cover from on ebay, craigslist, etc-it might be faster than trying to locate a new part.
Good luck,
Raf

The SD10 is an older, although very nice little Canon digital camera. It's known for its nice pictures in a vrey small package. Here's some info and reviews from owners:

You'll also need an SD card. A 1GB card should be more than enough for your 4 megapixel camera:
