If you had not removed the battery as soon as the cell phone got wet and it has been in the cell phone as it was drying then most likely the cell phone is beyond repair.

1/3 touch screen unresponsive

Alyssa redford, you need to show some official repairer to fix for you, because the problem is water damage, and solution for that is dissambly the device and clean touch screen connector on board with alcohol and let it dry for 2 hours, and then check again, if problem persist that mean you need to change the touch screen with new one. if you think you can do alone so look on you tube how to open device and do by yourself, if you are not sure if you can do please don't try at home without supervision of expert.Best of Luck. if my answer was helpful please rate it.

I turned on a wet sony ericsson xperia it vibrated but wouldn't turn on

Yep there's one solution. The problem what most of people do is they turn the device on while is still wet inside. When they do that (as you did), you will burn it as there will be short circuit. If you get your phone wet, NEVER switch it on until it's dry!!!!You should get 100% pure synthetic alcohol and (obviously without battery) put it in there so water will dilute with alcohol and it'll dry quicker without rusting any metal parts inside. You should leave your phone dry naturally up to 7 days on dry warm place(not hot). Phones usually switch off themselves when short circuit detected. So solution for you: put this one in the bin and get new one, you've burned your phone!!!

I went swimming with my iphone in my pocket. Now the flash is on, and none of the buttons are responding.

That's because the phone is about to die.

Water, in any form. Is a cellphones worst enemy. Even steam from the shower if you have your phone in the bathroom with you.

It wont turn on

Give this a try....place the phone in a zip lock bag with dry rice for a day or so to try to draw out any remaining water in the phone. If the phone still does not work, disassembly will need to be done.
