Lines and smudges on the printouts are due to deteriorating cartridges and cleaning the green drum of the cartridge may help temporarily. Take out the cartridge and gently clean the roller/ green drum with a dry, soft, lint-free cloth wiping off the toner marks/ lines. Also, make sure that the visible inside of the printer is clean and ther is no spilled toner inside. Let me know if any further clarification/ assistance is required.
GoodLuck! Dont forget to appreciate the solution if I could have been of any help! CreativeTECH
Check and verify smudging not caused by toner cartridge by removing toner from printer and checking the blue roller. DO NOT TOUCH the roller as oil from fingers may cause image defects. If toner good suspect fuser causing smudging on your printouts. Note fuser not considered a customer replaceable part for this model.
Driver could be corrupt. Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off.
I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with
the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the
printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud
its very common when the climate is humid.the drum and the toner powder of ur laser cartridge catches moisture which then produce smudged printouts.to solve this problem u need to blow the hot air dryer on the drum and powder unit.the moisture will go off and ur prints will be fine thanks.
Hi there below is what is states in the service manual.
326 C 2nd laser synchronization error The 2nd laser synchronization signal cannot be detected by the main scan synchronization detector board even if the laser diodes are activated. • Poor connection between the laser synchronization detector board and the LD unit. • Laser synchronization detector board out of position • Laser synchronization detector board defective • LD unit defective
By smudging do you mean the print is actually rubbing off?
I am going to assume you are seeing some reprint on all printed pages.
If I am understanding correctly, what you have is a bad fuser, most likely a bad heat roller.
That is the heated area just before the pages exit the machine.
The coating on those rolls wear out with time, or may even debond from the aluminum. The ink does not then properly melt into the paper, sticks to the roller and progressively becomes worse.
Replacement of the fuser should resolve that issue. That's simply a normal wear item.
