Question about Mitsubishi WD-52525 52" Rear Projection HDTV

1 Answer

Error 37 I just bought this TV knowing it had a fan issue. Of the three fans in the back of my TV (Looking at it from the back with the rear cover removed) the fan on the left immediately comes on as soon as I plug it in and stays on. The green timer light blinks rapidly for about 55 seconds and then stops. As soon as I hit the power button to turn on the TV the status timer light come back on green for about 3-5 seconds solid this time and then turns off, also turning off that fan. As the status light starts blinking 1 long and 3 short. I then proceed to hold down the DEVICE and MENU buttons and I get the error code 37 via the green timer light. I know that code means the exhaust or lamp ballast fan has stopped. Please let me know if I just need to replace the fans or if they stopped due to a larger issue. Thank you for your time, my email is joshlankford@ozonesolutions.biz i will be looking forward to your assistance Josh

    When I hit the power button the power supply clicks on for about 3-5 seconds and then clicks back off. I have left it unplugged, reset it and it is always the same result.

    As soon as it clicks back off the status light starts blinking. One long and then three short. If I hold the device and menu buttons down the green timer light blinks the error code 37. also when the power supply clicks back off the fans shut off.

    other than mitsubishi where could I get one of those? also are they very diffucult to replace? Lastly, is it the faulty power supply that is making it think there is an issue with the fans?

Mitsubishi wd60735 code 37

A 37 error code means one of your fans is bad. It would either be the DMD fan, or the lamp fan. Take the back cover off of the set and tape down your lamp safty switch. Turn the TV on and see which fan is not working, and replace.

Shuts Off with a blinking red light

Lamp used is first suspect in model indicated here WD-65737.

If cover is removed first (rear) look to see if a lot of dust and or dirt on fans (3) or at rear of set. Set intakes air from front of set and exits it from rear--a lot of these when in our shop first get a air clean outside with a compressor to clear all dust out.

If not the lamp or dirt suspect number two is the ballast that powers the lamp---set even if it does not power up should have a self check--press and hold menu and input (device) at same time for at least 5 seconds and release both--

The Power light will start to flash in a two digit sequence.
For example, 3 flashes, then 7 flashes = 37.
Here are the error codes, and the corresponding problem:
12 = No error detected, check power supply.
32 = Lamp Cover is open.
33 = Air filtercover is open.
34 = Lamp abnormality
36 = Light Engine (DMD or Lamp Fan stopped)
37 = Exhaust or Lamp Ballast Fan stopped
38 = Lamp Temperature High
39 = DMD Temperature High
41 = Short is detected
44 = DVI cablebetween FMT and Engine disconnectedLet me know what you find.

You can press the "DEVICE" and "MENU" keys on the front of the TV (not the remote) and the TV should flash an error code. Here is a chart.

Error Code Probable Cause
12 No error detected
22 Recovery from momentary Reset
32 Lamp Cover open
33 Air Filter Cover open
34 Lamp abnormality
35 Chassis Fan failure
36 Exhaust (Back Cover) or Lamp Ballast Fan failure
37 Engine (DMD or Lamp) Fan failure
38 Excess Lamp Temperature
39 Excess DMD Temperature
41 Short Detected
44 DVI Cable (between Chassis and Engine) disconnected

If the code is lets say 36 the LED will flash 3 times then pause then 6 flashes.

Tv says airflow restriction tv will turn off. there is no airlfow restriction

I did not find a reference to airflow restriction in the service manual.
I don't know if this will help, but here are the error codes:

The TV must be in “Shut Down” and not manually switched Off, to perform the Error Code Operational
Check. When the TV is switched Off, the code automatically resets to “12” No Error.
Press the front panel “DEVICE” and “MENU” buttons at the same time, and hold for 5 seconds to
activate the Error Code Operational Check. The LED will then flash denoting a two digit Code.
Note: The front panel buttons must be used, NOT those on the Remote Control.
• The number of flashes indicates the value of the MSD (tens digit) of the Error Code.
• The flashing then pauses for approximately 1/2 second.
• The LED then flashes indicating the value of the LSD (ones digit) of the Error Code.
Example: If the Error Code is “32”, the LED will flash three times, pause, and then flash two times.
• The Error Code is repeated a total of 5 times.
4. Error Codes
The Error Code designations are listed below:
Error Code Probable Cause
12 No error detected
22 Recovery from momentary Reset
32 Lamp Cover open
33 Air Filter Cover open
34 Lamp abnormality
35 Chassis Fan failure
36 Exhaust (Back Cover) or Lamp Ballast Fan failure
37 Engine (DMD or Lamp) Fan failure
38 Excess Lamp Temperature
39 Excess DMD Temperature
41 Short Detected
44 DVI Cable (between Chassis and Engine) disconnected

Mitsubishi wd52525 shows error code 37

error code 37 is either the dmd fan or the lamp fan. you can see the dmd fan with the cover off. you cannot set the lamp fan as it is under the light engine. I guess the easiest thing to do is get a lamp fan 299P282010 and a dmd fan 299P283010 and change them both.

Mitsubishi WD62526 - Error/repair code

22 Recovery from momentary Reset
32 Lamp Cover open
33 Air Filter Cover open

remove the back and lamp (make sure the lamp door is on) turn the tv on and look to see if the fan is running (keep you hand out of the tv when doing this - as the lamp connectors are empty) if the fan does not start - replace lamp - the connector is located under lamp housing connector JA - measure the red wire and ground (any metal part) for 12v at turn on - if 12v replace fan - if no 12v check the power pcb

Tv cuts off reset it will come back on fan makes noise then ramps up and shuts tv off

Here's something that might also be useful. After you turn on the set, and get the regular red blinky lights, hold down the Device and Menu buttons together for about 5 seconds.
The Power light will start to flash in a two digit sequence.

For example, 3 flashes, then 7 flashes = 37.

Here are the error codes, and the corresponding problem:

12 = No error detected, check power supply.
32 = Lamp Cover is open.
33 = Air filter cover is open.
34 = Lamp abnormality
36 = Light Engine (DMD or Lamp Fan stopped)
37 = Exhaust or Lamp Ballast Fan stopped
38 = Lamp Temperature High
39 = DMD Temperature High
41 = Short is detected
44 = DVI cable between FMT and Engine disconnected
