Question about Projection Televisions

1 Answer

THOMSON SCENIUM 44" TV has a possible faulty power supply or loose connection in the unit as it will not turn on (standby light flicks on and off). My 1year old would constantly turn the TV on and off and this has most likely caused this problem! how much would it cost to fix it , New power supply?

9 year old Sony Trinitron TV 27 inch; a red light is flashing "standby, timer"; have tried to cancel this but the TV won't turn on, just hear a clicking sound when pushing the power button

The key here is the number of blinks. The standby light should blink a count followed by a few second pause with the count repeating. That count coupled with the model number will giveme enough information to provide you with a solution. Can you uipdate this with that info please?

Thanks,
Dan

My thomson scenium tv wont turn on it wont change from red to green the red button flashes

Hello,

Your power supply board is dead, u know basic electronics’ and soldering? Most of the times, the power supply board just have dead leakages gases capacitors. These capacitors always bulges up on it top,or puff up on it top.Replaced these gases leakages capacitors will get your TV power stable, and work again.Or tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole refurbish power supply board for the replacement.

Take care.......

Tv doesnt turn on at all

It seems that your unit has some sort of PSU fault, or a problem that is shutting down the Power Supply Unit, PSU. The noise is what gives it away. This happens so that no further damage, and possible fire will occur.

You need to take the unit to a reputable service centre/man and ask for a firm "Quote" for the work to be done. It is that sound that gives it away, this is a typical switchmode Power Supply problem.

Tv wont turnon afterstandby

LG will sell you a new lamp. It may resolve the problem but just as likely it's the contacts where the lamp unit plugs to the TV. There's a few types of connectors. The early ones are dodgy and cause the problem you describe. A faulty lamp can also cause it though.
