Try running the optical TOSLINK cable from the TV to the receiver. If the TV doen't have a digital optical output, then try going into the menu on your cable box and setting the audio output to the digital optical out. Also check your TV menu and make sure NETCOMMAND is diabled. Some of your newer HDTV have Netcommand that allows the TV to control other devices through the HDMI cable.

I had the same issue after one month of use. A repair cie came and fixed the problem. It appenned to a neon connector that wasn't properly plugged in the TV.
The Technician explained to me that m TV had 16 neons and a sort of controler for those. Often - from factory - a cable is not sitting properly in its position...
Since I have no problem.

did you set to AV 1, 2, 3 or DVD input, it is depend to where it connected to..whether you connect to the AV input front panel, or rear. if not sure you can connect it to the front panel and sequentially sets the AV source, if still the same. you can connect the cable to the DVD input should be the type of cable TV .. PS 3 is like this:
Connect red, green blue Plug/jack accordingly to each colour on DVD INPUT the TV. set AV Source to DVD.. please Try and if the same result , you have to replace the AV cable of PS3.

There is some leaky mains rectifier diodes on the circuit. Before switching it on, replace all the four mains rectifier idiodes, or a rectifier stack, whatever it may be. Replace the mains filter capacitor that has bulged also' It may have got damaged. Check all the related components on the power regulator section and replace the suspected.
