ST01C is battery operated timer. Timer programming will cycle without being connected to electricity.
CR2 lithium battery specs say operating temperatures are minus 20 to minus 40 degrees Celsius. That is minus 4 to minus 40 degrees Fahrenheit. With expected service life reduced to 1 month when battery continuously exposed to temperatures at low end.
So it looks like ST01C will operate correctly for some outdoor application, but will shorten lifetime of battery. I will add that ST01C has 1 year limited warranty, and folks write in about timers that don't function after replacing battery. Of course people don't write in when timer functions correctly after replacing battery.
The timer knob and or the timer may need replacing here is a link for checking and replacing http://appliancehelponline.com/topwashertimervideo.html
The inner knob teeth tend to wear off on the ge top loaders, so check that first. You might have also broke the screw tabs that hold the timer in place from having to push it hard.
Yes, you can replace the timer motor to solve the problem. For the Intermatic T104 you'll need to purchase the 208/277 volt timer motor. Part number is WG1573. http://www.aplussupply.com/intermatic/timer.htm
If you don't want to mess with replacing just the timer motor you can purchase a new timer and swap just the guts with the old timer as long as the existing enclosure is still in good shape.
HI, this is a defective timer control module. replacing this failed component will fix this issue. the timer is responsible for initiating the heating cycle. If the timer motor mech is damaged and not moving, it will not dry properly. replacing the timer will fix this issue you are having at this time.
HI. this is a failed timer mechanism. replacing this failed timer control module will restore normal functions.
The timer is designed to rotate, via the timer motor. if this mechanism is defective or, not rotating this timer mech, this will render the timer useless. the timer has failed.
Quick and easy... I'm guessing you've already got the control panel taken apart so you can see the back of the timer. Just take out the black piece that holds the timer and knob together and attach the new timer replacing the wire mount and black knob
