Getting canon scanner going

This is how you do a clean download and install. If you did not do it this way, you may want to go to the control panel and uninstall it if it is there and do it the way I have detailed below:

When you have located the correct driver for your machine, please do a clean download and install as follows:
Turn off the machine and unplug it
Turn off all your running programs including your virus control
(look in the lower right corner and click on each little icon there and turn off everything you can)
Now download the driver and SAVE it to your desktop
Click on it to install and follow the directions carefully. When it is finished, if it has not told you to reconnect your printer, do so now.
Restart your computer.
