Try entering 1369 as the password. This could enable you to regain control.

How to unlock your front panel

Hello

Most RCA and GE TV sets use a four digit code to control the v-chip. The code reset is different depending on the model. Try each number until you find the one that works for you.

  1. Hold down the MENU button on the remote and VOLUME DOWN button on the TV it's self at the same time for at least 4 seconds. The set won't say so, but the lock will be unlocked
  2. Hold down the 0 (zero) button on the remote and the VOLUME DOWN button on the TV itself at the same time for at least 4 seconds. The set won't say so, but the lock will be unlocked
  3. Hold down the MENU button on the front of the TV and the TV button on the remote at the same time for at least 4 seconds. 4- Hold down GO BACK button on the remote and MENU button on the front of the TV at the same time for at least 4 seconds.
  4. Hold down EJECT button on the front of the TV set and the MENU button on the remote at the same time for at least 4 seconds. Depending on the model, one of the methods should unlock the V-chip. Now, if desired, you can change the settings on the V-chip by going to the MENU and going to PARENTAL CONTROLS, or on some sets, going to MENU and then going to TV SETUP, then to V-CHIP SET.
Ok

Lost Codes -Need Remedy

I scoured the internet on how to reset the V-CHIP on my Toshiba TV/VHS combo MV19M4 and could not find the solution. I tried others suggestions that had worked on similar models but nothing worked so I started experimenting and I figured it out! Follow these steps:

1: Unplug the TV for 1 minute then plug it back in.
2: In the menu select "TV Set Up".
3: Move the blinking block to beside "V-CHIP Set" BUT DO NOT SELECT IT.
4: Hold in the number 1 button on the remote.
5: Hold in the volume down button on the TV.

Your TV will turn off. Give it a few seconds to reset itself and then turn it back on and you will have to completely reprogram your settings. When you go to the V-CHIP settings it will ask for your new code.

Voila!

Television

scanning the channels would not have done damage, the tv probably just sensed the unplugging of the power as a ''spike'' in the power line. Just let it sit unplugged for a while and then plug it back in, should turn back on again. also, if you are on cable or such, the scanning of the channels should actually be done, in ordr to see all available channels when the vcr is not in use, or if not, just set it to channel 3 or 4 to see it through the cable box. ps.. In the future, don't buy tv/vcr / dvd comos, the main reason why most peole buy those things is so the kids will leave the bigger tv set alone, problem with that is- kids will be kids, and sooner than later they will stick something the player's slot and screw the unit up- that leaves the tv by itself, which they will not want to see if the player is not working. so you are out of both and the kids are back taking the bigger tv away from you. best thing is always to buy separate units (vcr/dvd player combo's or separate units are usually cheaper to buy separately along with a dedicated tv than one of those all in one units. something goes wrong, just fix or buy a replacement for the system. and you get to keep your own tv.

Parental and v-chip on and my remote is gone

Sooner or later you'll get to a point when not having a remote will get to be too annoying, so better get one now and take care of this problem. Also Emerson advice users not to use universals. Theres a way that might help you reset the system, i'm not sure it will reset the V-chip as well, but no harm trying. unplug the unit from the power line, and wait a good while before plugging it back. this resets some settings for sure, but it might be that the V-chip stores its settings differently. Then also check to see if there's any batteries supplying a small current for other settings memory, scour the face of the unit for a battery compartment and if you find one remove it for a while. Otherwise, you could try removing the V-chip. But i won't advice you to do that, opening tv's is kind of dangerous, and go find it in there... lol anyway, if you do manage to cancel it you wont be able to turn it back on, so unless you're content to keep the set in your bedroom locked, or let your kids have some fun, i suggest you go through the trouble of getting the remote. Maybe tell your kids that if they find the remote you'll go easy on them, let them watch some porn once in a while, you probably wont have to wait more then an hour before its in your hand, and find your lost golf clubs on the way... ;] good luck!
