Question about Electrical Supplies

Husqvana electric chainsaw

I have a new Husqvana 316 electric chainsaw. I'm basically using it to cut small trees down, limb size in width. Trouble is it seems to take forever to cut through something even really small. I think I have the tension of the chain correct, enough oil too. Am I using the saw wrong, this is my first chainsaw. Would appreciate some help, Thanks,

Jon

    Hello,

It's a new chain so I did not think it would need sharpening, but I will try that if you think it could solve things. Thanks for the link, Jon

What is the best chainsaw for a female to use, need easy start, no electrical?

None, they are too dangerous. You need strong arms in case of kick back.

But if you must, a national and well known brand like Stihl or Husquvarna. The Stihl MS170 might suit you.

"I am very satisfied with every aspect of this saw and love how light weight it is. It starts easily and runs great. I have cut up to 16 inch diameter oak, and it did a great job, considering the size of the saw. The local dealer was very knowledgeable and very helpful."

The STIHL MS 170 is the perfect lightweight chainsaw for homeowners seeking a great value. Compact, lightweight with just the right amount of power, the MS 170 makes quick work of trimming or cutting small trees, fallen limbs after a storm, and other tasks around the yard. And even at its great price, the MS 170 has many of the same design features the professionals depend on.

Please make sure you also get the safety gear. Vibration proof gloves to stop 'white finger', hard hat, visor, ear defenders, and most importantly chainsaw pants which has carbon fibres to jam the chain rather than cutting your leg off.

How can you buy just the saw for the 8" 2 in 1 pole saw.

Robert

Tried chain saw. Working on limbs about 12 ft above ground.
First limb about 3 inches diameter, Oak. Worked fine.
Second limb same size. Cutter slip off branch could not stop the saw from hitting ground. Broke case where it attaches to pole.
No parts, and no way to repair it as company had no idea what kind of cement/glue I could use. So one branch cost me $120.00.

Like Robert my saw hit the ground and busted in the same spot (this will happen to you sooner or later) and you can not get repair parts, its now a door stop.
Pros: Easy To Use, Light Weight
Cons: Can Not Get Repair Parts
I am guessing you mean the entire cutting end of the saw too, I would get a new one either same model so you have a spare pole or find a another brand that definatly sells spare parts.
Ive never used a electric polesaw but have done alot of work with with longer petrol and shorter hydrolic polesaws, even top of the range they can be broken easily always keep the chain sharp, cut one branch at a time or small clumps on a hedge.
Commonly they get dropped cause they get really heavy extended a shoulder belt helps alot as do coffee breaks.
Or they get jammed in the branch being cut which can be really dangerous with a half cut branch, be ready to run.
Also never use from a ladder

Husqvarna Chainsaw 350 has a piece of the plastic that around the handle broke, what kind of glue can i use?

Replace the handle. You can order the parts from partstree.com and it should be less than $30.00. If your saw runs fine its worth it.

My chainsaw started great first time. then it started stalling after cutting. then it siezed up, but i got cord going again. now it wont start at all. ive only cut down 1 tree and still have limbs to...

If you think it seized, whip the muffler off and take a look at the condition of the piston skirt through the open exhaust port, any sign of damage and it will not start again, be aware the shop where you purchased the saw from may well blame the fuel oil mix you have used.

Chainsaws are commonly used for the cutting of tree limbs, etc. A chainsaw will not play any type of audio/video medium.

What's the best way to use my 16 in electric saw to cut off tree limbs?

This is somewhat subjective. Eveybody does it a little different. If you are cutting limbs from a tree, start an undercut about where you want the limb to fall free of the tree. Use the upper edge of the chain to cut it about a fourth of the way through. Then start from the top of the limb over where you made the undercut.

Mcculloch EM250-14 RPM Slowed suddenly

The chain must be properly sharpened to cut efficiently and the oil pump must be feeding oil to the chain/bar. Check the oiling by running the saw with the bar tip near some cardboard for a few moments--it should throw off a thin line of oil on to the cardboard. If not, remove the bar and chain and run the motor for a few moments--it should ooze oil out of a side port that exits near the drive end of the bar. If still nothing, check the oil tank filter for plugging, then the oil pump itself--it may have a plastic gear that has stripped it's teeth. Once you get oil from the side port, clean the oil passages in the drive end of the bar, and reinstall the bar and chain. Hope this helps!

I HAVE A POULAN PRO 260 42cc 18 inch THAT IS 5 yrs old REPLACED BAR AN CHAIN . WENT TO CUT SOME TREE LIMBS CAN NOT EVEN MAKE ONE FULL CUT AN CHAIN COMES OFF AFTER 4 TIMES WENT AN RENTED ONE.

Remove the new chain and compare it against the old one. Do the new drive teeth match the 'pitch' of the old chain? If incorrect, the chain cannot be adjusted properly and will 'climb' over the sprocket due to the chain teeth not matching the teeth on the drive sprocket. Getting the proper chain is the answer in this case. Hope this helps!

My guess is that one of your fuel lines has a crack or small hole in it. Inspect these and replace if needed. let me know how it goes.
