Try through the onscreen display. Most tv's have an option on the menu to do this.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Akai Reel-to-Reel Tape Recorder Model X2000SD how do I hook up the cables for sound? I can get sound through the speakers, but can't turn it up.

Most reel to reel tape recorders have "line out" in the form of RCA phono jacks. These are designed to be connected to an external amplifier. Some unit, however also have an internal amplifier and will output to speaker jacks that should be clearly marked. If your unit has such jacks and you cannot control the sound, your amplifier must be bad. Keep in mind, on most recorders, there are no internal speakers or output amplifier and the volume controls on the front are for recording only.

My sound is out

SPEAKERS TURNED off (see set menu)
Internal/external switch for speakers in wrong position
Sound muted either on set or a BOX or volume turned way down on either.
Audio menu set to SAP or similar.

If you have sound with a DVD etc connected to rear audio/video inputs set has something set wrong and it is not likely the set causing this.

Akai is really Samsung (they own the name).

failing all above you may have a audio circuit failure but 90% of the time it is a setting in the box or TV or a hook up issue.

No sound

The speakers on these are usually at the bottom and do come off the set. If they are on the TV make sure there are wires connecting the speakers to the back of the TV at the speaker terminals.

Akai Plasma TV's screen suddenly went blank -model PDP4294

Same thing for me. TV just turned off one day and won't come back on. LED flashes red. Someone said it's because a cooling fan went out. If I can't find someone to fix it I'll take it apart and tinker myself. 32" with dvd built in was barely over a year old.

No audio

The speakers of the Akai is good so it is tempting to open it louder hence the chance of damaging higher. Try this to find out if your speakers are damaged....... raise the volume if no sounds, 1. remove the cable connection of the speakers from the TV whilst still connected to the speakers. 2.use a 1.5v battery to bridge the free ends of the disconnected cables, if you can hear sound...scratchy sound then the speakers are not damaged then 3. Connect a new external speaker to the TV if still no sounds, post back a message

Sound quality - Akai LCT2701TD

I don't have any problem with sound when I plug my cable wire directly into the TV's coaxial port. It sounds like there is a problem with the speakers or the sound board in the TV. I don't think the cable box would even help. If the TV is still under warranty, maybe you could borrow a cable box from someone else to see if it will work, and if it doesn't, contact Akai tech support again and demand repairs.
