Question about Televison & Video

1 Answer

No sound Hi there! I have a little question. I have an older Gold star tv in my son's playroom. I plan on replacing it in the future, but it works well with the exception of sound. There is no sound when watching tv, but when he plays his ps2 there is sound. Is there anything that can be done to correct this? thanks, Renee Smith

Sorry - I don't know what the fix would be....

One suggestion may be to take the audio out plug from the TV and run it to some speakers. If you have sound you can leave it on the speakers or try plugging the audio out into the audio in.

I can't get a picture on my Roadstar LCD8082D TV

The TV has two main sections One is the Audio component. And 2 is Video section. Since they are Separate and not dependent on one another with the exception of synchronization; (matching Voice to the Video), one section may work just fine. The other non-working section in your case is the Video. Over time various internal parts age and wear out from use or hot/cold. In the Video section a series of Capacitors, resistors, diodes, and transistors on a circuit board make up the Video portion of the TV. One or more of these electronic parts are going bad or totally defective. The only solution is a replacement circuit board. Do not waste your money on repairing a circuit board. If you cannot obtain a replacement circuit board, then the Road-star is now a Road Accor.

Jakks game key star wars

Why would you need a key?? This is a plug and play. You plug it into the tv and put it on the right channel and turn the unit on.

I have a Gold Star TV, several years old, that is stuck on a black screen with AV on it. I pushed the wrong numbers to change the channel and cannot get it to f\go back to tv mode. Can you help me?

If you have the remote, press the AV/TV button. If you have no button with AV/TV written next to it, look for a symbol that is the outline of a TV with a small + sign in the corner. Or, worse case simply press each button one by one, until you find the one that switches the channel. If you bring up something on screen you're not sure about, turn the TV off and back on again.

Toshiba television and universal remote problems

Hi, as the sets get older the codes for older models get deleted to make room in the remotes memory chip for the newer models, this is probably why none of the universals will work for you, post the model number found on the back cover of your tv & I`ll look it up to see if theres a sub or the original is still available, video-tek

The fuse is easy to find on TV's. unplug it, take the cover off, should be very near where the power cord comes in.
The bad news is it that it is most likely that there is more wrong than just the fuse.
Check the rectifier diodes just past the fuse.
Of course, my advice on TV's over 10 years old is to not waste any money fixing them.
