What cover is open? If you don't know look around and if there is a cover, open it to see if there is any switch inside. Make sure it the door contacts this switch. A good way to test this is if you see the switch inside and are able to activate it with your finger or pen, do it and see if the message goes away if it does you found the problem. the door isn't contacting the switch. try to close the door using flashlight making sure the door pushes the switch.

Yellow light keeps blinkingand the tv wont turn on

If the status light is blinking yellow it means the filter cover is open ( On the left side of televison)
If the lamp light is blinking yellow it means the lamp cover door is open. ( Behind front lower panel) If both covers appear intact the switches may be defective or not engaging properly.

Lamp replacement

Sure, I do by myself. Seat on the floor in front of the TV

!st. step: Grasp both side of the silver front cover with your
fingertips and pull it from projection display.
Then remove it.

2nd. At your left hand you can see a black knob. Turn the
open/lock knob to the left. Pull the black unit that have
the lamp inside. Cover out and down to open.

3rd. Loosen the lamp (black unit) screw with screwdriver.
Grasp the handle of the black unit lamp and slowly
remove the unit.

4th. Insert the new lamp black unit being careful. Tighten the
black unit lamp screw with a screwdriver.

5th. Close the lamp cover. Turn the lock/open knob to the
right.

6th. Replace the silver front cover. Finished.

Cleaning the screen cover on my sony big screen

Hi,
To clean its front screen, you should not open front cover as its complicated procedure. just take off its back cover as its shown in picture and use air-blower to clean dust. Then use soft cotton cloth to clean its screen from internal and 3 bulbs / lenses (CRTs) and job is done.
Need further help, let me know.
Bye.
