If you need to hook up to the barrel connector for cable or sat. you can use a converter box(Radio Shack) or VCR which both have a cable connection and then send it out component or Svideo.

The cable hook up on the TV broke off.

Yes...You may have to buy a new RF connector and replace. This will take some very good patience or purchase a new complete tuner. If you are not in a hurry for the tech shop. Use the rca jacks on the tv to a cable or satellite box. Just be sure when you power off you tv, that the tv is really off. A blank raster will look as if it is shut down for the time being! Good Luck!

The antenna/cable in threaded piece has come out of the back of the tv. How can I fix that. I tried to put it back but it won't stay. I think I need a new one.

These sets have what is known as a on board Tuner. This means that the Tuner is not replaceable without replacing the entire Board. The good news is that you can replace the Cable/RF connector as long as the shield it attached to is not broke or too bent. Most of the Cable/RF connectors used in these sets have PCB mount . You will have to remove the Signal Board and unsolder the center connection of the broken connector left on the Board. Remount the new
Connector and solder the center connection. You may need a collar nut to secure the Connector the the shield.
I hope this helps,

The metal part on back of Sharp Aquos TV where cable connects broke off. What do I do?

If you have a cable or sattellite box I would use the HDMI, Component, or audio/video cables instead. If you don't, you will have to have a new RF connector put on.

Yes there is a possibility that something shorted... remove the cable wire and unplug for 10 to 30 min and try plugging back in and restarting the set. otherwise the tuner probaly would need replaced. something any tv tech can do. AT the shop we replace these conectors al the time. just depends how bad the tuner is damaged.

I broke off coax cable on back of 32 inch tv. I can watch dvds with AV cables but not cable TV. How do I connect cable from wall to tv if coax is broken off

This depends on how many available inputs you have on the back of the set. If you have more available you can just hook up the cable box composit (yellow, red, and white cables) if not you will need to replace the rf connector or tuner in the set. let me know if you need more help.

My TV is fine...problem happen when I was moving today,not sure what its called but its the silver projection located on the back of the TV is which you connect the cable on the wall too...it broke...

Hook the cable up to the VCR or if you don't buy a RF converter from radio shack or electronics store which will have a coax connector on it with component and Svideo to send to the TV. Select the connection (Component or Svideo) in the TV menu. If you only have the coax connector on the back of the TV without any other connection, you will need to get that tuner board replaced.

Co-ax input broke off in back

Good Day, aprilpatino;
If your TV has video, components or HDMI inputs you can by pass the 'rf' connector. You must have a cable, sat box or vcr in order to do so. Hook cable output from 'box' to the TV's input. Change TV's input with remote for the proper 'hooked-up' input.
Good Luck, Big Irish.
